Flipping a coin is a game?

Postby Iron Butterfly on Mon Aug 25, 2008 1:43 pm

I feel like Timmy from South Park.

The other night I couldnt sleep so tried a 1vs1 classic board no card as I said what the hell. The drop of the first game for me was comical. He got SA I got Australia all my lines of attacked were boxed out by neutrals. The game was over by round 3 or so but we had to continue with the formalities.

Today I tried again and they landed Australia and I was boxed in again for the most part while they were free to deploy their bonus.

I have heard to just go for the other persons armies...but if they get a cont bonus in no card well thats a game over as well. It seems army count makes a big difference.

It sucks playing and knowing you dont have a snowballs chance in hell by round 2

Is there hope?

If you want to get really frustrated, try some flat rate, unlimited 1v1 games.

Yep, but only if you change from classic to other maps.

Waterloo is a great example where if you got the skill, you'll own at it.

Yes, once someone has zero armies left then they are out of the game and you win.

Yes there's hope, you're just not playing right. Now this is a rediculous setting that seems to lend itself to a greater degree of chance, however you can still play better. I haven't looked at the game as I am too lazy, however my guess is that the problem has to do with you being to agressive and attacking too many nuetrals. Try not to get too weak. army count matters in every style of play.

Not that I want to turn this thread into bashing noob farmers- but that's why some play 1 vs 1 freestyle ( given that it's two equally skilled players and rank).. the game type, allows you to level off the drop factor unlike Seq. To use the same analogy and as in poker, you can be a coin flip favorite by playing that game type.

Yeah it's an awesome game. I'm a premium member on http://www.flipacoin.com. Most games I had going on there was a little above 500.

It's very addicting though. I'm lucky I had summervacation when I joined and had the time to spare, but the past year seriously cut back on my playtime.

Try it out.
