Sorry in advance for speak English here, but, next week I'm going to Belgium to study, for 2 wonderful years. I’m going to Leuven that is in Flanders, the region where Flemish, a Dutch dialect, is spoken.
So, and after realizing that in some web-page in Dutch I wasn’t able to understand a single word, I’m begging here for some help, or tips, to start my approaching to such a fantastic language, and not to die in the attempt.
- What do you guys think that can be a useful “first steps” to handle the Dutch language?
- What is important to have in mind when you want to learn Dutch?
- What is important to put away when you want to learn Dutch?
My mother tongue is Spanish, But, I think that I can be understandable and been understood in English too (I guess that sometimes I can be confusing, but overall I can handle English quite well)
All the help that you can give me will be greatly appreciate
