What chance did we have, it was ani and drake who backed down. I can't log in for some reason, they must have known I was coming. Someone said fircoal was a decent player  there standards must be low.

When you play on MS, you can feel yourself ageing. :P

Indeed. The problem with the quick deadlines is that I'm not a huge fan of "No lynches" unless the players actually vote a "No lynch". Of course, in the game that I modded (and the games that I may or may not mod in the future) I remedy the "No lynch" problem with just forcing a lynch of whoever has the most votes at the end of the day, whether or not they have a majority vote.

But yeah, 3*(# of players) is stupid, especially when you have 50+ players.

This can be unfair to the town. If the person with the most has 2 votes in a 20 player game and they end up being the cop, that's bad. I say make so if they have at least half the required votes, they are lynched at deadline. Son in the 20 player situation, you have 6 at sundown, you hang.

But yeah, MS is slower than... slow itself.

Well, he sent in his action on my most recent game then disappeared, except once when I noticed he posted in the Tower.

First Nark, now Firc. I think that the end of the mighty CC Mafia crew is nearing. Anyone in the mood to listen some country-western music and remember the era that is ending? :(

Right now I'm a bit busy in real life (I gotta translate 100 pages by New Year). After that I might mod another game, but it's unlikely to be a small one  .

Hey dont be hatin on Mafiascum, its a good site. Games do take a while but I feel like I get more out of them then other places, mods just need to be strict with deadlines (I like 3 weeks if 10+ alive, 2 weeks otherwise. +2 days if replacement in final week of deadline)

weeks are too long, i think its best just to guage when things are going to slowly and then put on a 2 day deadline.

Two days is way to short, even a deadline in a week makes me uncomfortable if I am unhappy with the current VC. Fixed has the best record for me since its just there to make sure the day ends at a reasonable time, if players want to waste their time not posting (apart from a high chance of being forcibly replaced by me) they still get screwed over by a deadline.

Heh, I'm of the old school that is barely manageable even here now that all players should post once a day or once every two day at min; which makes week-long days enough. There's always role-based solutions to avoid a string of no lynches if the players are lazy, hee hee hee...

I know that, I'd make the game, then invite the vets.

Super Necro Bump, awaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy!

But out of curiosity, I wandered over there for a bit. Apparently, cases are scummy now.

What are you linking to? I got banned, even though I was being major-harassed by them. Their treatment of new members is atrocious.

Banned=Blocked? Geez...

Basically, the idea is that walls of text are bad (depends on the wall of text, but I'm very guilty of the bad kind sometimes...) and that people should automatically know why you're voting, or something.

I subscribe to a milder version of this, in that I think who someone votes for and the timing of it matters far more than any kind of justification they can raise. I'll often vote without any stated reason, in the hope it will cause people to look at my target and figure out for themselves why I suspect them. Most often, though, they just go 'Derp no reasons, that's scummy, vote Fonz.'

I found that quote amusing.

For me, they were always targeting me right off. No matter what reasons I gave or how much proof showed otherwise, they'd say I was just going after people who had attacked me. And then, just before my ban, they started getting mad at me because I kept saying I found a players words or actions "weird". Even when I pointed out that that was no different than them finding the same things "suspicious", they kept at it. It was insulting that they never took my opinion seriously.

I also got voted for for lynching just because of posting a lot, even though they were relevant posts. One girl I was in a game with harassed me especially, then took a clear shot at me by restricting how many posts we could make. She eventually changed the rule to limit only non-game-related posts just before we started, but then in the middle of the game, she was unhappy with the result and demanded I stop posting. I politely told her this was unfair, and she replaced me in the game.>_<

Cases and pro-town play is in my experience a big stinking bag of wifom that you should not open under any circumstances, and when someone else does, run as fast as you can in the opposite direction. Allowing people to criticise your gameplay is one thing, but allowing them to decide your meta is just wrong... And for as long as I've played the game, nobody ever claimed that trying to get scum lynched was bad for town.

Haha, I can see why they came to that conclusion. If you play this game to death then most top players don't give anything away. Any time you try to make a case against a vet it deteriorates to a wall of text that gets you nowhere, if you were frequently playing in games full of vets I can see why this would change.
