I'm going to adress some quick topics before the game starts.

1 - Anti-town players have fakeclaims.

2 - To account for all players + fakeclaims (that would be 30+ identities), I broadened the character pool by introducing characters that can be from the videogame or from the movie. That means you can find both "Character A from the videogame" and "Character A from the movie". They can both exist, they can be 1 real/1 fake or they can both be fakeclaims. Don't try to play the mod, play the game!

3 - If you have any questions regarding rules ("what happens if one roleblocker blocks another?"), you can ask me either through PM or in the thread. If they are strictly about rules, I'll answer them. You can ask about other roles if you so desire (you do not need to be a roleblocker in order to ask the roleblocker question, for instance). Did I just hint that there are multiple roleblockers in the game? No guarantees. Don't try to play the mod, play the game!

4 - The game balance was checked by Safari and Mr. Squirrel at earlier stages and I've changed a lot since then. Is the game balanced? I have no idea! No guarantees, except that you'll likely have fun! =]

They usually act at the same time, but if one ends up targeting the other, the "one" will exceptionally act before the "other", thus blocking the "other" from blocking someone else during that night.

well, those roles are quite common, i'll give you a list of roles common around here, but it's by no means a complete list, you may or may not find them in this game, and you may or may not find different roles in this one. some roles may sometimes have a different name, or slight modifications (or even mayor modifications)

• Vigilante = a usually pro-town player who can shoot targets at night (sometimes also during day)
• Watcher = someone who watches a target at night, he will be informed about who has visited the target during the night
• Tracker = someone who tracks a target at night, he will be informed about who the target is visiting (note, this is different from Watcher)
• Doctor = prevents a target player from getting killed during night (some doctors make the target immune to everything, others only to certain types of attacks, some doctors stop multiple killing attempts, some only stop 1 attack)
• Roleblocker = prevents the target from performing night actions, commonly blocks all roles, but some roles may be immune, depending on how the mod designed his game
• Busdriver = swaps two target players, actions against those players will be swapped as well. for example if player A and player B are 'busdriven' (=swapped) and player C tracked player A, he will actually track player B, however player C would not know about it. this can sometimes really be confusing. Busdrivers can be either mafia or town-aligned. Busdrivers can prevent kills, or direct kills at someone else.
• Bulletproof = someone who cannot be killed at night (or at least not by bullets, some mods allow diffent type of night actions that may sometimes kill bulletproofs, bulletproof can be a 1-shot ability)
• JOAT/Witch = someone who can use a lot of diffent abilities, but only 1 each night (and often can only use each ability once) the type of actions allowed varies per mod, common actions include watcher, tracker, cop, doc and roleblock
• double-voter = someone who has an extra (hidden) vote. the double vote shows up as ??? in the vote list
• Governor = someone who can prevent a lynch from happening, even if someone has enough votes against him to get him lynched, is usually town aligned
• Cop = somoene who can investigate players during night, will get a result on the alignment of a player (town/mafia/3rd party, etc.) the level of detail a cop recieves varies per mod, cops can also be insane, naive, paranoid, etc. which gives them unreliable results. usualy cops do not know they are crazy when they are crazy.
• CPR doctor = a variation to a doctor that kills the target if noone else tried to kill it, if someone does try to kill it, he will protect him
• Miller = someone who shows up as guilty when investigated by a sane cop, but is actually town (sometimes has a role, sometimes doesn't)
• Mason = usually a regular townie without a role (but not always, and is also quite often an activator) which is allowed to privatly talk with another mason, they know each other and they know each others alignement (usualy town) (note: mafia always know each other, unless there's more then 1 faction)
• Jester = someone who wins if he gets lynched (but not if he dies in any other way)
• survivor = someone who wins only if he is still alive during the end-game, regardless of which party has won (he shares victory with whoever won)
• SK (serial killer) = someone who can kill each night, sometimes ignores bulletproof, often operates alone, has to kill all possible treats (= all mafia and all townies except 1)
• activator = someone who allow someone else to use his ability, (usually both players do not know that they have or are an activator) when the activator dies, the other player loses his abilities (sometimes it's reversed, and a player gains an ability when another player dies)
• beloved princes = someone who activates a 'double night' on death. which means that whenever she dies, one day will skip, and there will be two consecutive nights without a day in between,
• lovers = 2 players who are connected, if 1 of them dies, the other will suicide (or just die out of agony)
• Cult = a group of players (usually starts with 1) who can communicate at night. they are dangerous to both mafia and town (they win if they outnumber town and there is no mafia left) can have abilities of their own, like killing abilities, but not necessarily have them, the cult leader may recruit new players to his team at night, there's a lot of variations to this, but usually the cult recruiter dies if he tries to recruit mafia, if the cult recruiter dies, either the cult disbands or has no leader or a new leader will emerge.
• Paranoid Gun Owner (PGO) = someone who will kill everyone who visits him for whatever reason, usually shoot first, usually does not kill bulletproofs
• bodyguard = someone who may protect someone at the risk of his own life

Roleblocker- A role in a mafia game that targets another in a game and if that person performs an action they are blocked. Can be town or mafia and in some cases third party.

busdriver-A role in mafia that can pick two people (person A and Person B) each night with each other so that actions directed at Person A hit Person B, actions directed at person B hit person A.

Example: Rodion busdrives edocsil and Strike wolf. Mafia select to kill strike wolf. Edocsil dies instead. Cop investigates Edocsil. Gets result for Strike Wolf. (Note the cop would not be informed that the verdict would be for strike wolf's alignment and therefore he would still think the result applies to Edocsil)

cop*-investigates one person each night. If the target is mafia or any other role that would show up guilty on investigation, the cop will get some form of guilty result. If the target is town or otherwise does not show up guilty on investigation they would show up innocent on investigation. Can have various sanities. Paranoid-gets all guilty results. Naive-receives all innocent results. Insane-receives innocent when the target should come up guilty and guilty when they should be innocent.

Vigilante*-town player that can kill one player each night

Double voter-role with a second vote. fairly self-explanatory. Usually the second vote is sent in private and shows up as ??? on the vote count.

jailkeeper (or Jailer)-role that simultaneously role blocks and protect it's target

Bodyguard-There's a couple of variations to this role. One is that the body guard protects one person each night and if that person is targeted to be killed the bodyguard dies instead. The other is that the bodyguard protects one person each night and if that person is selected for a kill there is a 50% chance the body guard will die or a 50% chance that the killer will die.

Tracker-Investigates one person per night and finds out who they visited but not the action(s) they perform. example: Rodion visits strike wolf and Edocsil. Safariguy investigates Rodion. Receives that Rodion visited Strike wolf and Edocsil.

Watcher-watches one person each night and knows who visits them. mr. Squirrel and Nagerous visit Doomyoshi. Doomyoshi watches himself. Finds out that nag and Mr. Squirrel visited him.

JOAT (Jack Of All Trades)-a role that can perform a variety of actions usually in the form of protect, role block, investigation and kill however there can be other variations. JOATs can have multiple one shots abilities or unlimited shot actions that have some other limit to how they can be used (can use unlimited amount of protections but not two nights in a row).

Inventor-there are a few variations of an inventor. THe first is similar to a JOAT only instead of a specific list of actions the inventor is given a certain number of inventions that he can use and is not told which is which.

Serial killer- a lone killer that can only win if it is the last one standing.

Mafia godfather-mafia role that shows up investigation (possibly bullet proof or one shot bullet protection).

Governor-can choose to stop someone from being lynched. Usually at the cost of the day ending.

Mafia Framer-can frame one player each night and make that person show up guilty upon investigation.

Miller-a town role that shows up guilty upon investigation.

Town bulletproof- a townie that cannot be night killed but can be lynched.

Town Masons-townies that can communicate with each other at night.

Lyncher-A third party player who's only goal is to get a certain player to be killed.

Cult/cult recruiter-a non-mafia anti-town group that wins if they outnumber town. IF the cult has a recruiter they recruit one townie each night. More common in bigger games.

Survivor-third party role whose only goal is to survive.

I think that includes all the common power roles as well as most of the ones that can interfere with results though I may have forgotten a few. If you want a fuller list there's mafiawiki and a couple other sites that contain various mafia roles.

*=These roles also have day versions where the actions are performed during the day instead of the night. more may have day time versions but these are the common ones. note that roles that attack during the day are less common than their night time counterparts.
