Sounds like a bit more complex Dethy variant. Cool. I guess I'll give it a go.

Meh, looks like it's already full... I'll join if you decide to let in more, but otherwise I'm happy to reserve (:

(Though reserves probably won't be used eh...)

Everyone just targets the name below them on the list. Lynch SKs.

Except nobody will do this. Because nobody will want to be found as SK. And since nobody knows whether they are SK, nobody should take the risk.

You are welcome to try, but know that I will lie. Every day.

So as town, you would play in a pro-SK way?

That's what I call a policy lynch-target.

Am I town?
Are you town?

I'd rather not discuss strategy with others, but I'll point out the obvious for you.

During the first night nobody will know anything and nobody will want anyone to know anything about them because everyone is potentially a murderer. After that you can take a good guess at whether your action kills people or not, at which point you can adapt your strategy. If I discover I am not killing anyone, I will play in a pro-town way. Until then, I'm afraid I'll have to play as third party. And if I do turn out to kill people, then why, yes, I will play pro-SK.

Innocent until proven guilty. 90% likely yes. Pick your favorite defense.

I have a great quote from RainbowDash over at MafiaScum who spends almost all his time breaking Open Setups:
"Any town not organized to proceed with a highly organized plan doesn't deserve to win anyways"

Nobody knows they're town until after night 1, though. And lying during day 2 is necessary in order to ensure your own survival regardless of your alignment... especially since all lynches in this game will be based on wifom and only wifom.

However, I haven't seen you on the signup list yet. You think you can beat a universal anti-town strategy? Good luck.

Either everyone plays along and the SKs lose or it's totally random lynch patterns.

I could eliminate any knowledge of me being SK by having my sister do the random.org target and pm and play as if I were town.

Why would I want to play a game where I can win 100% with a strategy that players are too obstinate to use, or ~100% lose because I have no information whatsoever to base my lynches on?

See Quantum Werewolf for an experiment very similar to this. However, the creator realized the importance of a cop if there are no hints about the scum.

Of the two options, I would pick the second. Also, ~100% in this case is around 87%.

It's a prisoner's dilemma. If the rest of the town plays according to your strategy, I can increase my personal winning odds by lying to town in order to determine if I am the serial killer. If the rest of town lies, I have no interest in playing along as that would put me in a position of disadvantage.

So there you have it. And sign up already.

The thing is the order has to be decided day 1 before you know whether or not you are SK.

Now the second option. Let's all just random.org our lynches everyday and random target at night. I can do that in R without needing to play mafia.

You can do that, but in R your town will automatically follow you. If everyone put their votes in random.org we would be unlikely to lynch at all. Fortunately, minority also means a lynch in this setup... But you know very well that R is not the same as blind mafia. All votes are weighted and there will be a party actively sabotaging town.

You know why we disagree? You disregard the possibility that you are an SK entirely.

I don't discount it entirely. I just think a mountainous setup with 2 SKs is an exercise in randomly lynching.

This world overflows with meaningless interaction, even with only the tips of your fingers there are more ways than can be counted; texting, tweeting, acupressure massaging, forum gaming, etc.

This town however, for good or bad, has had a break in their harmony; death touches everything a couple of people do, at first it was passed off as harmless accidents, but today people decided to start paying attention.

Too bad they decided to do so far too late for hundreds of their town's population...

There are fourteen alive, it takes 8 to lynch, deadline is in approximately 72 hours.
