Nope. Close on the State though. You are all heathens for not knowing about the *hint* hysteria involved with this state.

538 is correct

The largest high school gym is in New Castle, Indiana. It seats 9300 people, and over 10,000 during sectional and regionals (temporary wood bleachers).

The New Castle high school team is know as the Trojans. Kent Benson and Steve Alford were the NBA players from New Castle.

New Castle is also home to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame.

Massachusetts might have been where Naismith lived when he invented basketball, but it was perfected in Indiana.

Your go 538

Neph,

How many Duke or NC players played high school basketball in NC?

In the last 100 years, no state has had more impact on basketball (high school and college) than Indiana, with a close second place to Kentucky. North Carolina comes in around 5th or 6th and that is really only in the last 30 years that NC is relevant.

i certainly wasn't referring to duke......they can go to hell. but until the last 10 years or so, Carolina recruited in-state just as much as anyone else out there....

anyways, i'm just having a little fun w/ ya, any opinions about this are completely subjective, i.e. your cute little rankings of "basketball impact by state." onto the next question!

New question.

Who hit over .300 for the most consecutive seasons, and in how many seasons did he do it? Bonus if you can name second and third place and the number of seasons each did it in.

Modern Age?

Quick reply, I will say Tony Gwynn with 15 seasons

Second would be Ikiro for 8
Third Pete Rose for 7?

All time?

Ty Cobb has to be the tops, but no idea how long, probably 20+ seasons

All-time is what I'm looking for. Ty Cobb is right, and it is 23. Stan Musial is second, with Gwynn coming in third. I didn't feel like dragging this out, so you go, Curmudgeonx.

In light of the upcoming (for the US at least) big game, here is a Superbowl question:

What Superbowl MVP threw for 4 touchdowns in one quarter of the Superbowl?
