Every turn, you place a piece that is one or two spaces away from any of your other pieces. However, it has to be along a diagonal, row, or column; it can't be a "chess knight", or L-shaped move.

I did wonder if moving two spaces away was only allowed when capturing a piece, but the rules don't seem to specify that.
