Well, the subject seems kinda obscure... how many people on CC are going to know where Bratislava is or what their gangs do?

Anyway, if it's done in an interesting way, with good graphics and gameplay, it might work. There are worse subjects for a map.

The gameplay seems ok on a first glance, the visual style seems a bit dull though, could use a bit more spicing up.

Also, you might want to start from the large map image... it'll be much easier later on to make the small image from the large than the other way around.

Gangs of Bratislava? I dunno, I agree with Natty. When I think Bratislava I don't really think of their gang problem or now if they really have any.

If you want to do Bratislava, I suggest going with a standard Bratislava theme map and drop the gangs.

there are several maps with crime, Operation Drug War, Supermax: Prison Riot!, Prohibition Chicago, if crime theme is problem.

I´m afraid that simple Bratislava map without any theme, point will be less interesting and I don´t know which gameplay set up for it. but I can think about any solution.
thanks for input.

I´ve look at some maps before I started work on this one, but I never saw any conditions for autodeploy. so it is not possible to do +1 autodeploy when holding xy?

That sounds much more interesting. There's a historical aspect to it and all... I like it. There are not many historical city maps on CC, so there's certainly room for more.

i think velvet revolution sounds better even though both names are correct. velvet seems more .. poetic :)

I like the change in theme. But I think that there should be more explanation on the map of the significance of the various aspects of the map.

For example, I do not understand the significance of the gas stations. Were gas stations important for the revolutionaries to travel throughout Bratislava? If so, you should try adjusting the legend to say something like this: gas stations are important for dissidents to travel throughout the city, as they provide fuel. Gas stations attack adjacent gas stations and revert to neutral one. Otherwise if the gas stations are not significant to the revolution then you could use sections of the road in the place of all gas stations

the last thing that I do not understand about the map is what exactly the white buildings are. your legend does not indicate their significance.

velvet revolution is used in Czech republic. in Slovakia we use gentle. but if more poetic name will impressed more people, I will go with it :)

to be honest, the Gas stations were idea for Gangs of Bratislava and fits with its theme more. but also dissidents traveld over city by cars, also police needs fuel and Gas stations were also used as quick meeting points or as control points for police.
I am open for any ideas about this.

Its not bad, what you can do to make the details more clear is to size it up some, like 800x800, then the text in the legen will look better.

Im looking 4ward to see whats next.

keep it up ;)

This is a good theme, Oneyed - hope it gets somewhere.

Also, I'd consider using háčky and čárky, or whatever you call them in Slovakia in your territory names. If you check out Iceland and Denmakr maps, they also use the ∂, ø, ö etc. symbols.

Its not complicated, people dont need to know how its spoken or spelled, it will be integrated in the map and conected from the territory to the XML part behind the map,

Il say go for it, it will be more original this way and suit the theme.
