I think this would work as the large version. Bohuslän and other smaller areas no longer look too cluttered.

I would maybe still make the city and airport icons a little smaller.

Also, if you are going to keep the map rotated, the bonus description at the top left should also be rotated. I liked the larger coat in the un-rotated version. Is there a way to get that a little bigger? I'm sure I like the new location for it. And could all of the keys be grouped together?

I don't think it makes any big difference and feel like the version before is better. What do you think? Is this rotated version better?

It just feels weird for me to look at Sweden tilted like that. Therefore I can't support the it! I support the map though! Good work Roberth thanks to you we swedes might have a home map soon :D!

I totally agrees with you. It looks weird. You makes my point. And that's why I don't want it to be rotated.

If on the other hand you have "it looks weird" and on the other you have "it's hard to read and is too cluttered", which do you think is better overall?

The Fix to both answers... Supersize it. We have the tools now, so lets use them.

But with supersize, the map would still require lots of scrolling... most people these days have monitors with a vertical resolution between 1024-1080. If you substract from that the browser interface etc. you're left with around 850 pixels or so.

So making a map taller than that when it's not necessary is not really good design.

One possibility would be to take a map projection that's more square in aspect. Or do it kind of like the Canada map, with a outer-space view on the globe. This would give the opportunity to tweak the viewing angle until the map looks good.

Yes good point. That could work also. What does the map maker think?

I think that I'd rather supersize it than rotate it 90 degrees.
Is it really that cluttered that you don't see the boarders, names, army numbers, etc...?

No one's talked about degrees.

And yes, the current version is too tight - it'll be too cluttered in the small version.

Just throwing this out there, but this map could use some texture.

I agree with Natty here. The rotated version looks fine.

You mean that the territories should have textures?

Helix means the map as a whole could do with some texture, not a lot, just enough to give it some depth. Also can you please update the first post with your current version.

But before you concern yourself with textures, you should solve the problem of the clutteredness (is that a word?).

If you don't want to rotate the map, you'll have to figure out something else, I already gave a few suggestions a couple of posts back... but either way the layout of the map needs to be made such that it's easy to read and all the numbers fit on both large and small version.

[Moved] Per mapmakers request.

If the mapmaker wants to continue with the map, then one of the Foundry Moderators will be able to help put the thread back into the Foundry system, after an update has been made. ;-)
