For only having two pages of comments, this map looks really nice. I like the work on the knife at the top. Also the concept and layout of this map is different from a lot of others.

The gameplay of this map is quite outside my comfort zone, so I probably won't be able to speak much on that front.

But on the overall aesthetic, I like what you have going and I think it is pretty unique. Look forward to seeing it develop more. I'll check back, hopefully with more to comment on!

Thanks guys, your feedback is greatly appreciated. I have sent over a sample of the new gameplay for the 1 on 1 style. Soon as i get that approved i will post, then we'll go from there...

Try working on a couple of items on your own in a new update. Most often, posters will see a new update or image, and will wander in to respond! Additionally, if you post some points of discussion or questions you may have, that can help drive people to respond, since you've given them a focus.

well, since i decided to make this a 1v1 map, i need to get the gameplay approved first, and i haven't heard back in a while. So, i guess i'll post what i sent and see what i get back from comments.

Now, at this point, i'm looking for strictly gameplay ideas. keep in mind this is a 1 on 1 map.

Also, i know the img has green AND red at each camp, but each player will only start with one of these, just put it there to show that either player will start at either spot, its not like player 1 always starts in one spot and player two always starts in the other, if that makes sense.

Really want to get this map made, so any and all comments are welcomed...

interesting map and idea. I had idea to implement this battle to my Punic Wars map...

let´s look at your map.

hm, while this is 1 v 1 map - can you do that each player will start on one side? so one player will be Roman and second player Carthagian? maybe each could start with his camp and some units in field? the next ones will start as neutrals?

use "pictures" for units - so elephants will look as elephants (this is better way then have complex legend, I think).

make difference between units (bombard, one way assault, attack up two regions, autodeploy, lose units...).

make combinations of bonuses if held any types of units, but also negative bonuses for any combination of units.

make difference between attacks - elephants could attack infantry, cavalery could attack elephants.

add commanders to map?

use river as impassable and add there som crossing point?

try to read something about ancient tactics and bring to players real feelings-

I will look more at you map and also I will again look how it was near Trebia. good work, I want to see this playable :)

yes, above image shows that. Each player starts with ONE camp.

May do this later on, right now i'm looking strictly for gameplay ideas. For 1v1 maps, gameplay needs to be approved first.

At the moment the maps is rather unbalanced, due to the decay and the extra carthagian way to move out (placement of the 10 killer neutral makes it very easy for Carthage to move out, while hard for Rome to use that.
Besides that there is not really a gameplay, no bonuses to get, only the decay, this mean that at this moment both players will sit until one player is able to take the other out, which will be somewhere around when they hit 60 troops.
Nice concept, but this 1v1 map won't work until you have more interesting things to get in the middle.
