To make sure I have an accurate understanding of what needs to be done, let me confirm that this is what happens below:

1) Player A holds a continent bonus, but Continent 1 has a Killer Neutral
2) Killer Neutrals are checked first, so the territory is turned to neutral
3) Player A held the continent bonus but did not receive it because by the time the check for the continent was performed, it was no longer all Player A's.

This is correct?

Yes it is correct.

If you chnge this there will be small changes to all maps. Because when you have 12 regions at regular maps with killer neutral and one of them is killer neutral you take 3 troops (as you lose the 1 territory before the bonus of the region number and so you will see 'receive 3 troops for holding 11 regions'). So its important the exact position that killer neutrals are checked.

Not that this minor change is a problem anyway.

What this map needs :)

-Continent X has 2 territories, 1 of them is a killer neutral - all owned by Player Y
-CC deals continent X bonus and assigns troops to Player Y
-Then CC triggers killer neutrals leaving Player Y sad, but hopefully Player Y will resiliently manage to take back that 1 killer neutral and regain bonus for 1 more round.

CC deals bonus first then triggers killer neutrals. And a lot of new possibilities can happen.

These mechanics applied to this map:

Bucanneers can conquer the loot which will bring great reward (3 x the number of neutrals on them). A 5 neutral troop loot will yield 15. Only valid for 1 round
Colonial Powers must avoid that those stinking Bucanners get that precious loot

:)

P.S. - there was a problem with the image map file. Now corrected and available on the first post

As a side note. The coins you used for side images are not from the age of buccaneers. You have 2 spanish gold doubloon's and 1 Ancient gold piece. Likely Byzantine Empire. You would do better with a piece of eight in silver and then mixed with gold.

The Spanish coins you have now will work, but those are better. The Ancient has to go. ;)


I should add 15th Century silver reached as high as $1500 USD, while gold was much cheaper at the time.

Love the map...
Don't see why it is not at least in Draft stamp stage...

Maybe what is holding it up is that you said you can not make a small version of it...
They seem really strict on a lot of their limitations...

IIRC this was being held up because of some XML coding needing to happen. If that's the case, then here's a bump to hopefully bring it to the attention of the new owner in hopes he'll consider adding the necessary code. I look forward to seeing this map become playable, it really looks like an interesting map :)

bigWham wants all XML all suggestions put into the main Suggestions thread. Just place the [XML] tag in the thread title, that should do it.

The graphics look really cool, i just dont think the frames separating the center of the map suit the map graphic style.

I sincerely hope the "map technology" needed for this map to advance, become avaliable soon :)
