Map Name: "Isle of Treasures" or "Gang Wars"
Mapmaker: x-raider
Number of Territories: 35 (including 5 starting neutrals)
Special Features: one-way attacks, starting neutrals
What Makes This Map Worthy of Being Made: unique game mechanic

Previous Draft (extra bonus reqion)

Gameplay:
(1-10) are bonus regions (+1 bonus) consisting of 3 territories each
(A,B,C) are 1 territory bonuses (+2 bonus)
(X) is a bonus region (+?) consisting of 2 territories

(A,B,C,X) are starting neutrals and are one way assaulted on many borders.

Speculative Theme Ideas:

Island (Isle of Treasures): A couple pirate ships land on an island and go off in search of the treasures. They enlarge their camps and squander resources as they fight (it out / for control of the island and the treasures).
(A,B,C,X) = treasures
Graphics > Similar to "Antarctica" by Natty Dread and isaiah40 (without ice),

City (Gang Wars): Rival gangs vie for supremacy in a fictional modern day city.
(A,B,C,X) = mega-corporation buildings
Graphics > Similar to "London" by Natty Dread and Bruceswar, "Copenhagen Sightseeing" by Flapcake, "Fragmentation of CSFR" by Oneeyed

Looks interesting. On a visual note, C is at odds ... maybe have the angle go the other way .. ie away from 8 rather than into 8.

To sum it up, the Game Mechanic presented here is:
The smaller bonuses are more rewarding.

The idea might already be used in many maps, but I would like to have a simple map that focuses purely on one twist in the game mechanic.

Game-play:
Is the mechanic feasible?
Suggestions for bonus amounts?

Graphics:
Both images are at pre-draft stage.
I want to get an idea of which theme this map is headed for before I proceed further. (See Poll)
Otherwise I plan to do most of the graphics work after receiving the game-play stamp.

Next: fill in individual territory boundaries

Re hipppo: I incorporated that little fix in the island map.

I'm no good with abstract representations of maps, so I'll have to wait til I see more of a draft before giving some real feedback. :(

I'm just going to give my subjective opinion on this.
While both cities and islands can make for good maps, I've always enjoyed islands more. So I'd go with that. Play around a little and give us a draft. Hard to give any feedback at this stage. Just go with what you'd like to work on and then we can give you feedback.

Go with Islands, it fits nicer into the theme of the site.

He hasn't done anything for over a half year, I think it's safe to say he won't go with anything.
