- moved the Saint John text to make room for 888
- swapped est du quebec and new brunswick colors (but not sure that helps colorblind see filters below)
- added a border to map
- added a whale and a compass rose for flair
- added red to logo to give it some contrast and make it stand out a little

There is 7 conts. and 34 territorys.

You can attack from any territory that has little dots connecting them from one territory to another, i.e. Duplessis can attack Anticostie but not to Gaspesie because there is no line of white dots connecting Duplessis to Gaspesie(if you mistake Anticostie for a island you can pass though(this is also the same for Magdalen)).

I'm not sure how many times we can say that we can't really 'like' something when there's not much there. But, some comments to help you get going.

1. Even if this is the small map, I think it probably needs to be bigger.

2. Unless you get creative with the territory borders, you're going to have to find/add some impassables in there. BUT, I don't think fabricating these for a map about a real area makes much sense.

Do some research on maps of the region. Maybe there's a map online that splits it up the area so it creates 'continent's for you.

3. Don't worry about the side things like adding a flag, or a mini map. GET THE MAP GOING FIRST. Get a real map going. Worry about all this other stuff later.

sry but this is way too small.

i like edbeard's advise about the finding a map. use it.

u will have to have more than 8 territories at least (because of 8-player games).

if u find a good map that helps, this could easily be a map, maybe the first couple of territories u have now could be the continents, then find out wat the areas inside should be.

As someone from the region, I would suggest a map of the entire Atlantic region: NB, NS, PEI, Cape Breton, Newfoundland and Eastern Quebec could be the continents. Maybe not so much Quebec as shown here:

that could definitely work. And, it looks like you have five or six continents already (depends on where P.E.I. fits).

Ok, that sounds like a better idea, thanks.

I also knew they were provinces i just wasn't sure that IT was one of them.

I'll try to get one up tonight, if not proble by Friday or Saturday.

I always wanted a map of this area, but I cannot do the graphics, and figured there would be not a lot of interest in Eastern Canada.

Here is a map with the counties marked if you want some territory ideas:

I wouldn't think so either, but consider of the maps we've got in development or those that have made it up for live play.

It's all about the execution of an idea. If it's top notch, people will be much more receptive. If it's half-assed or drawn by a mule, that may doom an idea... It's treacherous!

My suggestion would be to remove Labrador and that big chunk of Quebec. Maybe just use the peninsula above New Brunswick. That way you can make the maritime provinces larger, to fit more territories.

I don't think you should remove Labrador as it is part of the province Newfoundland and Labrador. I would also think you should keep St. Pierre & Milquelon in the map as it is actaully a French colony. Could be used as a bonus +1 type of thing...

Granted it is a part of Newfoudland, but if using the provinces as "continents" then you will need them to make them larger to put territories within.

I am not a fan of those +1 bonuses for a single territory, but that is only my opinion. If something along those lines were to be considered, capital bonuses, such as on the Italy map, would be a better solution, I think.

Labrador is just so big and empty! This map should be "Maritime+Newfoundland(The Island not the Province)"
Although, having a territory named "Happy-Valley Goose Bay" would be fun. :P

I agree with what you are saying, but from what I read most of the map makers here are very high on accuracy...that is the only reason I say you have to include Labrador. Even if it is one big large territory. Don't have to divide it up...

well this map has the same problem as the last one you posted. too small. chop off the top 1/4 of the map (maybe leave a little bit of Labrador) and zoom in so you can fit territories to do this area justice.

I don't think this map needs to be huge for the area, but at least 30 territories.

I've made up about three maps so far trying to figure out an Atlantic Canada map. We played one on a dry/erase board last month and it worked out fairly well.

New Brunswick : 10 territories
Nova Scotia: 7 territories
Cape Breton: 5 territories, including sable island (I know Cape Breton is part of Nova Scotia, but it shouldn't be, we are very different from those who "live in the mainland")
Newfoundland: 13 territories

Maybe some ocean/lake bonuses similar to Great Lakes?
I am seriously all about this map. Let's make it happen. There's about 8 of us from Sydney, Cape Breton who are all active CC players. I'll link this thread in our team game.

oh, and poor PEI: 3 territories

Pretty simialr to the county map shown on the previous page.
There are ferries that make for nice borders:
PEI - NS
NFLD - CB (one border in CB to two different borders in NFLD)
PEI - NB (bridge)

there could be a ferry from CB to Sable Island
More borders would have to be made from NFLD to NB i think.

It's not my map, but I have serious issues with PEI being part of Nova Scotia. haha... but really, It's looking good. Great idea with adding Quebec and Nunavik, makes for better border options.
