86 Territories

OK, taking everyone's recent advice into account, I've adjusted the color of the blue on the testosterone molecule, and I think I've really found a winning color. Let's see what everyone thinks.

So I figured out how to post.

This is the proposed Estrogen

And this is the proposed Testosterone.

What would make this worth a game?

Here's the map as I can get it. All that has to be done is to add the circles where the troops will go and link it all to make it a map.

Sweet-- it's original. About time there's one that has to do with science.

Here's another look at the map. I made things a bit bigger and more readable. We'll see if people like this one better.

It needs to be a lot smaller and make it more unique, GP wise

This map only has 84 territories. Check out "World 2.1" which has 112 territories, and is one of the most played maps on conquer club, so this shouldn't be a problem. Most maps have too few territories in my opinion, especially if you're going to play with 4 or more players. More territories means you get more places to go and more armies at the beginning so it isn't a really slow beginning.

I am sorry I mean the SIZE of the map itself, way to big, look at any map there are restrictions

Gotcha-- so the picture needs to be smaller? I can work on that-- thanks

You can take a look at the map selection there is available-- each one involves conquering territories and trying to get more troops to defeat the other players. Either that, or they have a central territory that's hard to get that wins you the game. The only other changes in the maps involve how you get extra troops, which this one has. It's not just continents you conquer, which makes it different from lots of the maps. The real difference in GP and strategy are changing up how the territories line up with each other, and how defensible the positions are that give you extra troops, which this one has made a difference on. So I like it. *shrugs

I think what he is saying is that this map needs something new for it to work besides the layout.

Do you have anything in mind? Features?

Your right Kill has enough Testosterone as it is
(Kill gets this ;) aka not a flame/bait)

But I have to agree, this is like classic 2.o without the classic part, making it not very goog
sorry

And it's estrogen vs. testosterone guys, not "conquering testosterone." As a girl, I would like to go up against guys and own them. Rock on science, rock on.
By the way, it should be "good" not "goog." And "your" should be changed to "you're." Just FYI :)

I wouldn't mind it, their just mindless sheep following RJBeals, in this context anyway.

Although you'll need to come up with some snappy graphics if you want this quenched

Well I like it better but:

You need to make it bigger:the image size

You need to explain what molecules are what

So, the molecules themselves need to be bigger? And maybe a color key for which colors are which atoms?

I made the molecules bigger and added a key for the atoms, anything else look like it needs fixing or tweaking?

So I've been working on a map in the idea room, and have gotten it to a pretty good draft of the map, and would like to see it go beta. Its called Testosterone VS Estrogen and has 84 territories, with a non continental bonus scheme. So here it is:

Welcome to the drafting room... I've merged your two threads together so that all the discussion is kept in one place ;-)

My initial observations are as follows:

1) Your image looks good, and shows a competent level of ability ;-)

2) Your image will need to adhere to the size restrictions, and be no larger than: 840x800px for the large image, and 630x600px for the small. 1024px × 910px is way too big...

3) You've got a nice rendering of your structures, but some the language is going to be lost on a non-technical audience... the map purports to be a battle of testosterone v estrogen (ie male v female), but the visual representation of it is much more atomic than platonic. To get a feel for how badly atomic/chemical structures seem to do, it might be worth taking a peek at any of the failed periodic table maps to get an idea for the sort of battle you might be up against.

4) There are only two connections between the top and the bottom. This isn't in itself a bad thing, but the first thing you need to consider is how games are likely to play....

5) The images of the warrior/princess look like they've been copied and pasted from somewhere.... their copyright owners may have something to say about that

The progress a map makes through the foundry is dependent on several factors. The primary ones are the level of community engagement with the concept, and the way in which the mapmaker responds/interacts with commentators. If you feel your map isn't getting a lot of attention, then I'd encourage you to engage with other maps in development, and hope that people return the favour.

All the best,

MrBenn ;-)
