AGREE!!! I am one of those unable to download necessary software to be able to use BOB.

Are the ones "screaming" about the change people who just have trouble with ANY change? Or ones who don't like their "advantage" being taken away?

Just wondering. :D

If the stats were below the map and above the game chat (like BOB) then it would push the game chat down. But how does being off the right side of the screen adversely affect you if you don't care about the stats.

Not everyone uses Firefox, and even some that do cannot install software scripts like Grease Monkey. But the biggest argument against your statement is many new recruits don't even know BOB exists and they are at a disadvantage for quite some time. The game should be fully functioning from the website itself, any additional downloads should give the user no advantage because then you have an uneven playing field.

so why not have a disable button? kinda like the online hide button? oh and some ppl like having that wasted space. this update its like bird shit on your windshield to some ppl.

but hey i like it. i was just bitching about the green dot :D

It needs a hide button. Also, does it make the maps smaller?

I personally think having a disable button is fine (if it would not take long to code), but I also think it is unnecessary for the reasons enumerated above.

If coding the button would prevent lack from updating any other feature on the site, I'd much rather not have it. If it was a very simple fix then sure, I think people should be able to turn off the stats.

When you have maps on large you have to scroll to see everything... I do not like that at all.

It does push the "spoils" all the way to the right, which means that I have to scroll to the right to see it. Yes, I know, BoB gives you card counts as well, but following your assumption that many people can't get BoB...

What's the harm in making a hide/disable button? So what if I just don't like looking at christmas colors on the right side of my map?

I just don't see why people think that a hide/disable button, which would put the choice in the hands of the individual user, is a bad idea... :-s

I like it and it looks great on my screen...though I have a wide monitor so that might be helping.

Also glad to be rid of BOB...the only extra information I ever required was the troop numbers and territories so I can now go back to my super-fast, unmodded internet explorer.

Woot!

Finally, I am sure this will help CC's new players compete on a more even playing field. The farmers will be weeping...

Well done Lack..best update in my time here,

Put the amount of cards where it used to be the new spot is so much more annoying to look for. Other than that love the change.

This change is great.

I've been using BOB for quite a while and find I miss it, when I'm forced to play from a different computer.

Also this is one up on BOB, it gives a full region count in the fog as well. With BOB, you still needed to count regions in a foggy game.

Yes, exactly! I sacrificed a lot of speed for that mod...if you have as many 100+ round games as I, then BOB slows your play time by about three million, billion, squillion percent.

Again, Lack you are a genius!

Ignore the farmers with their 'but now I won't have an unfair advantage over new players...' crap.

Trust a chap who makes his points the fair way...

Those people who are looking for a hide/disable button should ask sherkat to make it a feature of BOB. If a script can add things to the page, surely it can take things away.

My only problem is that in a fog game, players should not know how many territories others have..... That's one of the points of fog......

I don't usually offer negative comments but I really do not care for this feature at all. If you can't count on your own, I don't want to play with you. Period.

New players will still make the same stupid mistakes regardless of the territory counter.

As it's been said time and time again, the game log has always shown this and B.O.B. already displays it for you.

The only people complaining about this either a)don't know about B.O.B. or b)have B.O.B. and are upset they don't have an advantage anymore. Nothing about this is new for those who knew how to find it, so please stop whining.

I hate this upgrade. Make the players do this themselves!! Why are you making it easier! That is part of the game. Get rid of this, or make it optional.

Not really liking it. I already have BOB so it's kinda pointless, plus it seems to be slowing down my browser. Maybe you could make it an optional change, so those of us with BOB who don't need this change can keep it the same.

Postby denominator on Sun Nov 29, 2009 9:03 pm

I know I'm just echoing everything else that people have said, but larger maps push the stats bar off my screen to the right. This isn't a huge issue, just that the spoils are on the far right of the stats bar, so I am required to scroll in every game to see how many spoils a player has. The only change I recommend for this is to move the spoils column to the left by the players names like it was before. Otherwise, great update Lack!
