This looks like a superb update, and can only bring more people to tournaments!

I'd like to see the 'Tournaments' tab switch places with the 'Forum' tab (but only because I'm used to the forum one being in the middle). While I think of it, I've occasionally wondered if the 'Instructions' and 'Rules' tabs should be adjacent to each other? I wonder how long it will be before we can get a 'Maps' tab?

That was quick, thanks!

Glad something I "suggested" made it in. Now I'm just as qualified as Joshyboy to be a mod!

I've got to say I love the update. This will bring in a bunch of fresh faces to the tournament realm. It will also allow for us organizers to create larger tournaments more often and have them fill up at a much quicker pace. Great update, Lack. :D

And to prove that, two of my recruiting tournys gained 5-10 players in a day! Filled them up with plenty of reserves :)

Game creation and tagging privileges would be a pretty bitchin' start.

It would be nice if the "Tournament Finder"'s "Type" was expanded to include the ability to do searches like in the "Game Finder", e.g. more than 2 players, no spoils, foggy. I understand that some have different spoil and foggyness for different matches within the tournament - and selecting the options would be for tournaments that have only foggy no spoil games.

One of mine got close to 30 in one day... heck it had 14 in before the update and now we're up to 53 so I had to extend the number of players I was allowing. (Yes I know 53-14 is far greater than 30 but in the span of about 24 hours or so 27 new people joined.)

I've been watching the development of this by Lack and our great Tournament Directors from the sidelines (relaxing, eating a banana of course as they worked diligently), and yowza---does it look fine!

This may even make me interested in joining some tournaments now...it seems so easy...!

Great work everyone! Look forward to seeing this in action!

Although a good idea in theory, that is too much information for us Directors to track down and input into the system. Plus a lot of tournaments have individualized settings depending on the round or the player (home settings). This would be a doable thing once we have an automated tournament system where the organizer inputs the data to the system and it spits out the information and brackets, but that won't happen for a long time (if ever).

No it can't be done automatically because we have to check to make sure the new tournaments meet the minimum requirements. The Fuzzy Pengui currently adds tournaments to the database, and he's still working out how often and at what times those updates will take place.

Actually, I think I might be the only person on CC to be awarded a tournament medal for a tournament where I didn't even win a game! The Dojo Yaburi tournament, where I played one game and lost it! My team of apprentices did all the work for me so I didn't need to lift a finger.

Sometimes the on-going tourneys still stay in the Database - Around the World in 80 Days! is still getting sign ups asking to play, even though it's said full for a long time and is into the second round. Of course, then those in it, still get more notices about posts that are from people who can't read!
