So, there was some confusion about when midnight CC Time actually fell. I, among others - including RiskDominance, had thought it fell at midnight Eastern Standard Time, but some of my fellow CCers, including KingRat, believed it to fall at midnight Eastern Daylight Time - one hour earlier. This led KingRat, who had the lead in Speed Games won at midnight EDT to stop playing, believing he had won and allowing RiskDominance, who thought there was still an hour left, to keep playing and overtake him in the next hour.
For the record, I have confirmed with rds that KingRat was, in fact, correct - during Daylight Savings Time, CC Time is Eastern Daylight Time.
The times you see in your Game Logs, on wall posts, in the forums, etc. are separate from CC Time - those are in reference to the timezone you are in, which you can change in your Control Panel, under "Board Preferences" - they change when you change your timezone, but not when CC Time changes.
In fairness to the two of these players, I will award a GA Medal to the four players (including KR and RD) who won over 100 Speed Games during the 3 days of the event (whichever definition is used for CC Time), in recognition of what is truly an outstanding achievement - especially when you consider that no other player won more than 65 Speed Games during this period.
In other news, the Saint Patrick's Day map is now closed.
Best,
