you mean for Praha and Bratislava borders? and lasso tool, you mean Free Select Tool?

I used Free Select Tool and then Bucket Fill Tool, I also used Fuzzy Select Tool with which I select grey centre of city and then I used Draw Selected, I also tried to add Path around city and Draw Path...

it was and still is pixelated...

Yes, the free select tool. First use it to make a city-shaped selection. Do this on a new, empty layer. Then fill the selection with black, then shrink the selection by 2, and then fill the selection with grey.

That's odd... You should be able to make smooth selections with the free selection tool. When you use it, do you have the "antialiasing" option checked?

Maybe try working at a higher zoom level?

Like they say - if you give a hungry man a fish, he's fed for a day; but if you teach him how to fish, he's fed for the rest of his life... ;)

Try this: set your zoom at 300%, then select the lasso tool. Now draw the city shape without ever taking your finger off the mouse, don't just click points with it... just draw with it like you draw with the paintbrush. Draw the city shape with it this way and you should get a selection with smooth edges.

Then just do the rest of the steps like I said... fill with black, then shrink selection by 2 (in the selection menu, select shrink) and then fill with grey.

Well they're good enough for now, you can improve them later.

Now about the highways, why don't you make them go all the way to the towns & cities? Why do they cut off just a bit before the city/town?

Really?
It looks fine when I do it. It's an SVG file, so you should be able to reduce the size without it looking worse at all.

How about: Image

Oneyed, when you resize things, do you have the interpolation algorithm set to Sinc?

When you select the scale tool, the tool settings has a drop-down box that says "Interpolation", if you set it to "sinc (lanczos3)" before you resize things, you'll get better results.

Ok, no problem. Just so you don't have to change the setting every time, do this:

Go to preferences (in the edit menu), there go to "tool options" and set "default interpolation" to Sinc, this way the interpolation will always be set to it when you start gimp.

A few things that could use attention before we start talking about stamps and whatnot...

The background looks really blurry and messy. Maybe you could find a better one? Or try making one yourself. There are some sites with free textures and patterns, you could search for a paper texture from one of those.

http://www.cgtextures.com/
http://www.textureking.com/

Also, the colour scheme of the map seems kind of drab and dull. Try making the colours a bit more lively.

:ike the border but the lines on the map could be toned down a bit. Also, everything looks really crisp and sharp, which does not look good on the paper you have it. Wrinkle up the borders a tad.
