2013-03-20 07:07:25 - Oneyed: what do you think about to change capitals to n3 or to change town bonus to +1 for every 3?
2013-03-21 04:00:47 - Gilligan: an extra town bonus might help.

there was discusion about extra town bonus, but in 1v1 or 3, 4 players game will be possible that any of players will start with number of towns which gives him bonus.

what about to change:
capitals (Praha, Bratislava) will start as n3 instead of n4.
and +1 for every 3 towns (in CR/SR) instead +1 for every 4 towns.

Cannot see a problem with this as in large games that I looked in, they are not taken very often. A lowering of the neutral might get them into play more often.

This is frowned upon. A bonus drop for small games will happen. Need to run the percentages but I can guarantee it will be higher than allowed.

this bonus is combination of holding capital and 4 towns. and because capitals allways start as neutral nobody can hold bonus even he starts with 4/3 towns.

I agree with the suggestions Oneyed. No bonus would be dropped and it would open up the game a little bit more.

so what to do?
1, change capitals to n3 and town bonus +1 for every 3 towns with capital? or
2, leave capitals n4 and town bonus +1 for every 3 towns with capital? or
3, change capitals to n3 and town bonus leave +1 for every 4 with capital?

Just lower the neutral to a 3. Brings them into play.

I think that's a good start. Do that and see how the gameplay works out from there. Maybe change more later.

I'll say that I'm in a doubles game where the neutrals were in play with them being 4.

i also support reducing each capital's starting neutrals to n3 and, if this doesn't have the desired effect, to n2 later.

I am for changing it and trying it out. Do we need multiple input in order to do it? If anyone wants to play a 1 v 1 on this map send me an invite and we'll give it a go.

I tried to look/download Giligans xml but I got this notice:
"Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /files/2008/11/14/2187148/Frag.xml on this server."

where can I find current xml and do these small updates?

You can either keep trying as it is a Fileden (the web server Gilligan uses) problem. The best bet is for everyone to attach the XML to the thread when you post the update.
