Game lists updated in Post 2

Co-organiser: Fewnix

A few nights ago, Fewnix contacted me and asked me to host a private tournament for his usergroup, Whom or What. I've persuaded him that it would be better to make it a regular, public tournament, and offer this experience to everyone. Edit: in order to qualify as a public tournament, a maximum of 8 players from the Whom or What usergroup may enter. Half of the spots must be reserved for non-members. Whom or What members who have signed up in excess of the limit will get a reserved spot in version 2.

We currently expect to have several more tournaments in this series, with increasing numbers of players and increasing complexity. For version 1, however, I have pared this down to its basics. In this tournament, you will be playing Quads games with different team-mates not of your own choosing. Although all the games are team games (Quads) this is not a team tournament! You sign up as an individual, and you will have your own individual score.

The map is First Nations Americas -- that's right, the big one!
The settings are No Spoils, No Fog, No Trench, No Drinking. Well, okay, you can drink. If you're of legal age. And have finished your turn. Reinforcements, however, are Unlimited, so I guess if you consider drinking to be reinforcement, Refills will be too. There will be a 30-round limit in all games.

16 Premium players are needed to sign up for this. You will be randomly placed into a square such as this:
Square2.jpg

Round 1: You will form a team with all the players on the same horizontal row as yourself. You will play three Quads games, one against each of the other teams. So, Team A vs. Team B, Team A vs. Team C, Team A vs. Team D, and so on.

Round 2: You will form a team with all the players on the same vertical column as yourself. You will play three Quads games, one against each of the other teams. So, Team 1 vs. Team 2, Team 1 vs. Team 3, Team 1 vs. Team 4, and so on.

After Round 2, the Square will be re-randomized. On the new Square, Round 3 will follow the same procedure as Round 1, and Round 4 will follow the same procedure as Round 2.

Total game load, therefore, is 12 games, in four rounds of 3, probably over a period of six to eight weeks.

Scoring:
3 points for being on a winning team and not missing any turns.
2 points for being on a winning team if you miss one or more turns.
1 point for being on a losing team and not missing any turns.
0 points for being on a losing team and missing one or more turns.

Highest aggregate score wins. Simple, isn't it? In case of a tie, the win will go to the player who has gained the most actual CC points in the tournament. So, tough-won games against higher-level opponents will carry the potential for an ultimate reward.

You are expected to play to the best of your ability regardless of how much you like your team-mates. Anything that looks like sabotage will result in removal from the tournament.

14/16 already. I don't think I've ever seen anything fill this fast. Dat Fewnix has powerful juju!

Two more spots and then we'll take some reserves.

That's because you're running a private tournament instead of a public one. You need to either increase the number of overall player or remove members from Whom or What to get the members of that group down to equal to or less than 50% of the overall number of players.

I'd love to take the challenge! But is there still room?
