Two more spots and then we'll take some reserves.

That's because you're running a private tournament instead of a public one. You need to either increase the number of overall player or remove members from Whom or What to get the members of that group down to equal to or less than 50% of the overall number of players.

Okay. I have to go to work now. I'll think about this on the road and make an announcement when I get home this afternoon.

I'm pretty sure I want this first one to be just 16 players (one square) so I will go with the second option.

Members of the Whom or What usergroup are limited to eight. Those who signed up in excess of that number will get reserved seating in Version 2. The correct player count is at present 11/16.

UPDATE AS OF JUNE 5 2012

At the request of the master of the tournament, Dukasaur I will be acting as the initial scorekeeper. Here for Round 1 of the tourney are the rounds the games are in as of June 5, the troop tert deployment strength and deployment as shown by BoB for the teams ,so you can make your own judgment who is winning and losing and how soon the games should end. Seems many games are moving to a conclusion and people are doing well and having fun. BoB also makes calls as to missed turns and I use that to give "provisional calls"

From BoB
Player Missed turns (total) Troops Regions Strength Last bonus Troops due(R + Z + RB)

I will be checking the games on a regular basis and providing updates. As the games end I will make a call on the score each individual gets based on
Scoring:
3 points for being on a winning team and not missing any turns.
2 points for being on a winning team if you miss one or more turns.
1 point for being on a losing team and not missing any turns.
0 points for being on a losing team and missing one or more turns.

Please feel free to suggest any corrections to the score I "provisionally" give, based on whether or not a player was on a winning or losing team, and whether or not a player missed any turns. As the Duk proceeds to schedule Round 2, he will be the final judge of this and all other matters. =D>

I t looks like the games are going well, lots of friendly chat and everybody having a good time. WELL DONE PLAYERS
=D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

and as always thanks to Dukassur for all he has done, is doing and will do.

How about I do an update this weekend with provisional scores? Any errors or omissions let me know,I'm new at this 8-[ duk starts to set up round 2 and posts the score on a cumulative basis. Todays oppo is tomorrows team mate..Love the one you are with.

Round 1: You will form a team with all the players on the same horizontal row as yourself. You will play three Quads games, one against each of the other teams. So, Team A vs. Team B, Team A vs. Team C, Team A vs. Team D, and so on.

Round 2: You will form a team with all the players on the same vertical column as yourself. You will play three Quads games, one against each of the other teams. So, Team 1 vs. Team 2, Team 1 vs. Team 3, Team 1 vs. Team 4, and so on.

After Round 2, the Square will be re-randomized. On the new Square, Round 3 will follow the same procedure as Round 1, and Round 4 will follow the same procedure as Round 2.

Total game load, therefore, is 12 games, in four rounds of 3, probably over a period of six to eight weeks.

Scoring:
3 points for being on a winning team and not missing any turns.
2 points for being on a winning team if you miss one or more turns.
1 point for being on a losing team and not missing any turns.
0 points for being on a losing team and missing one or more turns.

I would rather see all the games in a phase finish before starting the next phase. We can make an exception if there is one that is taking an exceptionally long time, but definitely it is too soon to start now.

One issue is game load. People have a certain expectation when they sign up for a tournament of how many games at a time they will be playing, and I don't like to overload them. But the second, and much larger issue, unique to this type of tourney, is mind-set. In Round 2 people that were your team-mates in Round 1 will now be your opponents. People will need to reorient their mind between the two.

Update as of June 15

Games are progressing, one finished, some others close to finishing. At the request/direction of the Duk no pressure, allowing time to ease into the transition to Round 2

Scoring:

0 points for being on a losing team and missing one or more turns.

No fuss, no rush, but here are how I see things standing as of Saturday morning June 23. It may be that I am new to this or it may be the nature of this tournament but I find there is lot of detail work in keeping score in a tournament, so please feel free to gently point out any errors I have made. All resuts posted here are provisional and the Duk will be the final judge of all things.

Round 1: You will form a team with all the players on the same horizontal row as yourself. You will play three Quads games, one against each of the other teams. So, Team A vs. Team B, Team A vs. Team C, Team A vs. Team D, and so on.

Highest aggregate score wins. Simple, isn't it? In case of a tie, the win will go to the player who has gained the most actual CC points in the tournament. So, tough-won games against higher-level opponents will carry the potential for an ultimate reward
