Standing updated through Week 5.

Rnunez is stepping in to take over for the struggling Radiers. They host the 1-3 Eagles at home.

Dallas Cowboys remain our only undefeated team at 5-0, can 2-2 Atlanta end that win streak on the road?

The lowly Tennessee Titans are still winless through 5. They face the 1-4 Patriots on the road before entering a much needed bye week.

The AFC North still looks like the toughest division overall. Could they send 3 teams to the playoffs?

As an aside - the San Francisco 49ers have announced their intention to move into a new stadium (First Nations North America) before their next home game.

Week 8 games sent out.

Dallas remains unbeaten at 6-0, but faces a tough matchup against visiting Seattle. They'll need to keep rolling to stay ahead of the equally hot 6-1 Redskins. You'll want to circle Week 11 on your calendars when these two division rivals face off for the first time.

Oakland is 2-0 since head coach rnunez joined the team (after upsetting the formerly 5-1 NY Jets!) putting them back into contention in the AFC West. Can they do it on the road?

Meanwhile, the Steelers appear to be pulling ahead of the AFC North race, winning their last 4 after a 2 game home-stand (where they seem to be unstoppable). They'll take a bye this week with both the Ravens and Browns trying to trim down that lead.

Sorry for the delay in updates. Just waiting on one last game...

The Houston Texans had the Niners (me) on the verge of defeat with a 13-5 lead, but one Delay of Game penalty and a couple big plays later, the tables have turned and the Niners now lead by 10. Will the Texans attack be able to rally back and send the game into OT?

NYG & ARI were tied then ARI gave up two Delay of Game penalties before coming back to the game, but it didn't matter with a final score of 35-7 the Gaints won.

Week 8 highlights so far:
  • Undefeated Dallas scored on their first possession and look to have Seattle on the ropes with a 13 point lead.
  • Niners complete back-to-back road wins over the Texans and Colts, but the Rams hold a large lead in Detroit.
  • The revitalized Raiders took a tough division loss on the road to a motivated Chargers team. The Broncos also lost on the road, despite taking an early lead over the Ravens - putting the AFC West up for grabs.
  • The winless Titans appear to be on the verge of notching their first victory over division leading Jaguars. Titans coach sportsgod24 before the game: "Going for my first win just like the real Titans!!" (RL synchronicity!)

Week 9 games sent out

5-2 Tampa Bay holds a small division lead. Coach amazzony will need her team's best against the 5-2 Packers to hold off the Saints and Panthers (both 4-3), who face each other on Saints turf.

With the Rams on bye this week, the 49ers host the formerly winless TItans in their new stadium to tie for the division lead. Don't count out the (4-3) Cards or Hawks yet. They each take on a 2-5 NFC North team this week to stay in the race.

Game of the Week: AFC West leading Denver Broncos hope to end their 3 game skid, but host the 6-1 Steelers who lead by only one game in the tough AFC North and have won their last 4.

This game will be watched closely by the Chiefs, Chargers and Ravens - each of them on the road with a chance to tie up their respective divisions, while Cleveland and Oakland sit nervously on Bye weeks.

In other news, the NY Jets relax on Bye this week with a comfortable 4 game lead and the Dallas Cowboys look to go 8-0 on the road against 2-5 Eagles.

Standings updated through Week 8
Correction - Baltimore Ravens are 5-2

Re: NFL 1v1 2009 Season - Week 10

Week 10 games sent out

Chicago Bears fire coach RipRock - BenKenobie steps in as new head coach
Our second mid-season coaching change finds the 2-5 Bears looking for a spark from new coach BenKenobie to keep them in the playoff hunt. A Week 14 victory over division leading Packers will be key.

One, Two, THREE Division leads change hands after Week 9
Ravens, Panthers, and 49ers all won this week taking leads from the Steelers, Bucs, and Rams (respectively) by way of better division records. Three teams battle for the AFC North, while the NFC South and NFC West are any team's for the taking - with no team more than 2 games out.

Same goes for the AFC West, where the Broncos upset the Steelers in my Week 9 Spotlight with a quick, confindent victory.

Week 10 Spotlight A - With the Steelers hosting the 2-6 Bengals at home, the Ravens must win on the road against division rival Browns, who sit just one game out themselves. A Browns win and Steelers loss puts the AFC North in a three way tie. Browns win
Bengals lead, but Steelers are driving and look poised to score

Week 10 Spotlight B - The undefeated Cowboys go on the road to face the 6-2 Packers. After a strong showing over the Bucs last week, you can bet the Packers will be looking to make a statement by upsetting the Boys, who certainly can't rest yet, with the Skins hot on their heels. Cowboys win

Other notable games:
To stay in the mix, the 4-4 Saints must win on the road against a dangerous 6-2 Rams team. Saints win A Ram's loss would give the 6-2 Niners, who don't know what to expect from Kenobie's Bears, some breathing room as the Niners look for their second straight home win. Niners win

The 5-3 Panthers are also at home, with another important divisonal matchup and a chance to strengthen their division lead, even if the Bucs win on the road against the hapless Dolphins as expected. Panthers win

The 6-1 Redskins host the 5-3 Broncos who have won 3 games on the road this season and will need to make it 4 to hang on to the AFC West. Broncos win Though the 4-4 Chargers are technically at home this week, they host a 2-6 Eagles team who's only 2 wins have come on the same Arms Race map, so a Chargers win is far from guaranteed.
Eagles struggle with multiple delay of game penalties and may forfeit the game.

Meanwhile the Chiefs and Raiders face off in what could be a make or break game for their playoff hopes. The Raiders hold a slim advantage at home, where they've won 2. Raiders win

The Seahawks hope to end their 4 game skid with a road win over the Cardinals. A 5th straight loss might put their playoff hopes in to the cruel hands of fate.

Lastly, the 5-3 Jaguars head to NY where the 6-2 Jets are undefeated. The Jaguars, however, have won 3 on the road and need another win to fend off the Colts. Jets win

Week 9 stragglers:
Redskins hold a small lead at halftime - on the road over the Falcons in the Monday Night matchup.
Update: Skins hold a strong 20 point lead over the Falcons. Barring a miracle - Redskins win
Kenobie takes the reigns looking for his first victory at home hosting the Cardinals.

New standings coming soon

Week 11 games sent out

Spotlight A
This is the one you've been waiting for - the 9-0 Cowboys host the 7-2 Redskins in the first of their two match-ups.
Washington brings the heat and ends the Cowboy's win streak putting them within 1 win of the conference lead.

Spotlight B
7-2 SF Niners (that's me) travel to 6-3 Green Bay. A win for the Niners, who've done well on the road so far, will help them hang on to their thin division lead.
Packers win.

Spotlight C
The NO Saints can get back into the mix with a road win over division rivals Tampa Bay.
Saints win a very important game for them. Carolina is down 10 points at home against Miami. The NFC South will be a 3-way tie going into Week 12.

More upsets coming out of the AFC East as the (4-5) New England Patriots shock* the (7-2) division rival NY Jets to win their last three and pull within two wins of the division lead, while the Buffalo Bills hold a solid 14 point lead over AFC South leading Jacksonville Jaguars.

In the AFC West, the (6-3) Denver Broncos have their hands full with the (5-4) San Diego Chargers, who hold a 6 point lead at Mile High Stadium (Denver Home). The Chargers have won their last 3 and will take the division lead with a win here.

Re: NFL 1v1 2009 Season - Week 11

Week 12 games coming this weekend (hopefully)

CHARGERS TAKE DIVISION LEAD WITH QUIET 4 WIN STREAK
With an quick upset on the road, the NailerX's San Diego Chargers wrestled the division lead from the Denver Broncos on account of a better division record.

SKINS END COWBOYS UNDEFEATED BID
A heated rivalry finally came to head when the visiting Washington Redskins handed the Dallas Cowboys their first loss. The win puts the Skins within one game of the division AND conference lead.

AFC NORTH A TOSS-UP
Hear that knocking? Its the Cincinnati Bengals demanding to be included in the AFC North talk. They've won back-to-back road games with an upset over the Pittsburgh Steelers and another over a Raiders team who were undefeated at home since a mid-season coaching change.
The Steelers picked a bad time to hit a 3 game losing skid. Baltimore Ravens won this week to maintain their thin division lead. Steelers/Ravens and Browns/Bengals face each other in Week 12.

NFC SOUTH GETS TIGHT WITH CAROLINA LOSS AND SAINTS WIN
The Miami Dolphins routed the Carolina Panthers on the road. The Panthers never saw the end zone - scoring only 3 points as their offense sputtered suddenly after winning their previous 4 games.
The New Orleans Saints further complicated matters with a road win over the Tampa Bay Bucs to tie up the division at 6 wins a piece.
The Panthers still hang on to a slim lead via 1 Division win, but must visit the New York Jets next where a noisy stadium has made it nearly impossible for visiting teams to win.

OTHER NOTABLES
The St Louis Rams pulled back into a tie with my San Francisco Niners. The next two weeks are crucial for me as I face division rivals back to back, while the Rams face two teams with a collective 5-15 record.
The Chicago Bears finally won their 3rd and 1st under new coach Ben Kenobie.

Standing updated through Week 11
*The Week 10 matchup between Seattle & Arizona is still in play, with Seattle leading by 8 late in the 3rd quarter. For the sake of a standings update, I've given this win to Seattle, but will watch the outcome closely and make updates as necessary.

Guide to my game "commentary":
3 Rounds = 1 Quarter
Most games are "over" by 12 rounds or less. Games extending into later rounds are OT (overtime, not offensive tackle :))
Missed turn = delay of game penalty
Troop differential = A "lead" in points
