For this tournament, the objective is to capture the most number of points per round. The TWO players that capture the most points will move on to the next round. In the event of a tie with points, the last two players standing will move on even if one of them loses points.
This means that is is possible to "win the game" by being the last person standing but not move on. It also means that you can be eliminated 2nd or 3rd and still move on to the next round.
Since the point calculation is determined by the number of points each winner/loser has, each round will be created using members of the same rank (or as close as possible).
When you sign up, your rank will be captured and used to generate Round 1 games. Each subsequent round games will be generated based on your rank at the end of the previous round.
Since it may be impossible to put all players into a game of the same rank, I will make the determination as to who will be paired and my decision will be final. I will do my absolute best to make this as fair as possible. However, as the games progress, this will be more difficult. If necessary, the rules may be changed on the advancement method if needed and I reserve that right.
**UPDATE - The last round will be made of only TWO players. The winner of the tournament will be decided in the last 1 vs 1 game by the the total number of points gained in the tournament. Therefore, it IS possible to lose the last game but still WIN the tournament. This will keep each round interesting even if the first two players are taken out by only one person. In the event that you are eliminated third and only one other person has gained points, you will advance with zero points. Since this is a points based tournament, only positive points will be carried over. If you are eliminated, your points do not detract from your tournament total gained.
Freemiums are welcome but must keep one spot open for the tournament at all times.
One round must be complete before the next round will progress so there may be times when there are minimal games in progress.
Players kicked out for missing turns are immediately disqualified and can no longer advance. In the event that someone is kicked from a game for missing turns, the points that player may have gained are no longer valid. Any player that may have been taken out by a kicked player MAY advance if they are still one of the remaining players that have received the most or second most points in the game.
Once game info is sent, you have 3 days to join or you will be disqualified and a replacement will be named.
