Bar Double Dutch [Winners: Serbia & Tripitaka]

News on running
Status overview in post2 as well as in first post at page 2 (so not here) :geek:

Drinking at the bar is over; we had some good fights and at the end the bar burned down 8-)
But we also have our winners: congradulations go to Serbia & Tripitaka =D> =D>

I try to put in here things that happend the last period that could be interesting :mrgreen:

Everybody stopped drinking cola, but seems that stopping was not the own choise for everybody :?
Hm, also everybody stopped drinking beer, but several glasses did come back broken. Please be a bit more carefull :roll:
Since most people seems to be a bit cooled down we continued with the wine 8-)
To prevent earlier fights (were it fights :?: ) to continue I swapped the teams again :geek:
People are getting more and more drunk; anyway result is that we don't have any working electricity :idea:
Therefore drinking the whisky has to be done by candle-light :sick:
Something went wrong, very unexpectedly some complete teams were burned down; stupid candles ](*,)
All servied in the hospitals O:)
I don't know what went wrong with those candles but we have some fire in the house, two tables left in a hurry :twisted:
In the dark the last table had problem to find the exit 8-[
Result was that the fire-brigade couldn't use full power and the bar burned down :twisted:

Plan is to rebuild the Bar, this time made in Iron :ugeek:


Headlines
Premiums as well as non-premiums are welcome in this bar.
You should enter as a double team, but it is possible to try to get a partner here.
You will be in one game at the time and in total you have to play 4 games.
All games will be with 3 double teams, after the 4 games your team will have played against all other 8 teams.

Planning
Start first games on 9 February. You need to be able to start your game(s) at that moment.
I will reconfirm that date latest 6 February.
We are already full. I will start a bit earlier, I still have to organize last parts (like getting tournament privileges). In case you have a reason why it shouldn't start earlier let me know.

Bar Double Dutch
I hope that you and your partner will enjoy the opening of my new small bar :D
To show that you like this bar you have to start drinking within 48 hours. With the new entering method you no longer need to wait for the earlier teams, you only need to join the correct team.

To celebrate this opening I will serve some double drinks on the three 6-persons hang-tables. During the drinks you will play a nice related game. Between the drinks I will rotate all couples over the tables again (using the windmill system), but don’t worry you will stay together with your partner. Although the drinks will become stronger, you can keep ordering new drinks (at this opening party they are for free) as long as somebody at your table is in the game.
We start with Double Cola
Second as you most likely already guessed Double Dutch
After this beer we will go to have some wine, in our case Entre-Deux-Mers
And finally we serve some Johnnie Walker a double distilled whisky
There is a risk of a tie of 3 or more teams. Only those teams will get some coffee (in fact a double espresso) afterwards.

The games
In post 3 you can find how I came to the following games:
1) Cola: USA, doubles, sequential, flat-rate, adjacent, sunny
2) Beer: Benelux, doubles, sequential, escalating, unlimited, sunny
3) Wine: France, doubles, sequential, flat-rate, chained, sunny
4) Whisky: Scotland, doubles, sequential, flat-rate, unlimited, fog
Tie) Coffee: Caribbean, doubles, sequential, escalating, unlimited, fog

Score
As score we use the windmill score. You will get more tulips in case you leave a table later. You will get for each game 21, 17, 13, 9, 7 or 5 tulips depending on your position. In fact it will be a team-score, so the winning team will get 21+17=38 tulips. Second team 22 tulips and third team 12 tulips. The third team is the team from with both people are first kicked out.

In case there is at the end of the competition a tie in number of tulips collected, the results of game(s) in which those teams where in together will show there relative position. This makes a tie of two teams impossible and of three or more teams unlikely. But a not solvable tie of 3 or 4 teams is possible.

In case I need a single reserve I cannot give the remaining person a better position in this tournament, but the reserve will bring one bonus tulip.
In case I need to replace a complete team then that reserve team will take over the tulips of the leaving team, however in case the leaving team had a bad position the reserve team will get the same number of tulips as the one on position 3.5 (so average between team 3 and 4; with the double that correspond with position number 7). In all cases of a complete reserve team, it will get on top of that start score two bonus tulips (one each).

Predictions
Predictions like this are easily not 100% correct, see my earlier tournaments with predictions: link and link. The problem is that they really are only predictions.
• Expected start first games at 9 February.
• Expected start last game on 28 March
• Expected the very last game to be finished at 14 April
All predictions were made on 22 January. First prediction could easely made correct (not that difficult) so 0% mistake, however it filled very fast so started 29 January (61%). Since it was started too early (and not too late) and could have been done correctly I will count this for the everage only as 30% mistake.
Second prediction in reality 1 April, 4 days late. 22 Jan to 1 April is 69 days; and 4/69 is 6% mistake.
Third prediction in reality 26 April in which is 13% mistake.
So average is 16%, which is worse compared to Crazy Dinner Date (11.5%) and Asian Dinner Date (9%) but better then City Trip (18%)

Currently this gives a bit more details how the games are related to the drinks
And it also gives the complete general windmill scoring. With the windmill scoring all kind of games can be mixed, for instance standard games with team games.

Settings games
In fact I always use a kind of standard setting: standard, sequential, flat-rate, unlimited, sunny. Next step is find a reason for a map and a reason to change the standard setting. So in fact the standard setting is hardly used :lol: By the tournament-setup in this tournament all games are doubles.
1) Cola: USA, doubles, sequential, flat-rate, adjacent, sunny.
The double cola is coming from the USA (somewhere near the Mississippi). Now is cola well known, but not double cola. According to my personal idea distribution has a large influence on this, so I gave this game a more difficult distribution : adjacent.
2) Beer: Benelux, doubles, sequential, escalating, unlimited, sunny
In fact Dutch is the majority language in the Benelux. But with the French language in the south it might become an escalating situation in Belgium.
3) Wine: France, doubles, sequential, flat-rate, chained, sunny
France is still the country that makes most wine and Entre-Deux-Mers is one of their typical wines. But production between two rivers makes unlimited transport not possible
4) Whisky: Scotland, doubles, sequential, flat-rate, unlimited, fog
While American whiskies are usually distilled only once, Scotch whiskies are typically double distilled and Irish whiskies are distilled three times. So it is clear that it had to be a Scotch whisky, for this double tournament. With all these drinks I expect there is some fog in your head by now.
Tie) Coffee: Caribbean, doubles, sequential, escalating, unlimited, fog
With the extra whisky the fog will stay, in fact the coffee is meant to sober up. Since it should be late in the evening and everybody had several drinks we expect that things still get escalating. But don’t worry too much we have excellent coffee from the Caribbean.

General windmill scoring
In fact there are two groups of maps each having there own scoring. The reason for that is that in WWII people start eating tulips because of the hunger.

The complete windmill system scoring is up to 8 persons. Simply leave out lowest in case you play with less.
Score: get 21, get 17, get 13, get 9, get 7, get 5, get 3 or get 1 tulip
WWII: eat 0, eat 4, eat 8, eat 12, eat 14, eat 16, eat 18 or eat 20 tulips.
It is never possible to have negative tulips.
Reserve player: get one tulip extra on top of starting quantity of current position 7.

Mixing of standard, terminator, all team-setting and most assassins is possible. Assassin with 7 players is not perfect and for assassin with 6 players a small trick is used.

Before we start serving we wait until there are 4 (or more) people in the waiting line :mrgreen:
That could be singles or couples; we still have two weeks to find them O:)

In case we find them soon, I might start earlier then planned. That doesn't look to me as a problem, but in case you have any objection just reply. The only problem is that it is bad for my predictions :oops:

No update from me at the forum, but I contine creating new games, send invitations, reminders and if needed invite reserves; just stop updating the forum for a few days :mrgreen:
