Confederations Cup Doubles [Winner: danryan & hacx5nine]

Postby redbugal on Wed Jun 10, 2009 5:11 pm

This is a short doubles tournament that follows the 2009 Confederations Cup, being held in South Africa next week.

PREMIUMS ONLY PLEASE! There will be six games per team in the first round

You have to use the map assigned to the nation you choose to represent. All games will be sequential, but you can choose your settings for spoils, reinforcements and fog. Below are the teams, followed by the map that team will play on.

Group A

South Africa - HErus and Mob - Africa - Flat Rate, Chained, Foggy
Iraq - dragon dor and pascalleke - Battle for Iraq - Escalating, Chained, No Fog
New zealand - DJ Teflon and Talia-Thomas - Oceania - No Spoils, Chained, Foggy
Spain - danryan and hacx5nine - Iberia - No Spoils, Chained, Foggy

Group B

United States - AndrewB and David_Wain = USA - No Spoils, Chained Foggy
Italy - Frito Bandito and Canek - Italy - Flat Rate, Chained, Foggy
Brazil - MyTurnToWin and conquerhero - Brazil 2 - Escalating, Chained, Sunny
Egypt - kraphtone and wpbrj - Egypt: Lower - No Spoils, Chained, Foggy

Each team play will each other team in their group, once on each home map.

If each team wins one game, both will get a point in the standings.

If one team wins both games, that team will get 3 points in the standings.

After all first round games are played, the top two teams will go on to the semifinals, where the winner of group A will play the runner up of Group B, and vice versa.

Games in the semifinals and final will be exactly the same way, with one game on each home map.

Any tie-breaker games will be played on Africa, Sequential, No spoils, Chained, Sunny.

When signing up, tell me who your partner is, which team you want to support, and what you want your settings to be. All games will be sequential, so no Freestyle!

For those interested, here are the first round tiebreakers

1. Points
2. Head-to-Head
3. Fewest Rounds Played in wins
4. Playoff game in Africa

Aselwyn1,

Canada, sadly, did not qualify for this tournament. Do you want the USA?

Diego, it looks like you beat dragon by a nose. Your map will be battle for iraq, but what settings do you want?

Congratulations to the Spain and Iraq for coming in first and second in Group A.

It looks like we'll have a real classic in the semifinals, as the USA takes on Iraq.

I'll have those games created and sent out shortly.
