With your schedule, those games should still clear up quickly too.

Hmmm.....perhaps we could use the "no cards" setting only on the smaller maps then? Like Ireland, Indochina, etc.? We could use escalating for the BIG and complicated maps to speed them up, and use flat rate for everything else?

We could have 4 weeks of new games (1 per week) and then take a week off to let some finish and then start over with another 4 weeks of new games. We can always take an extra week off from time to time if the number of active games climbs really high.

Like this idea...

PS Also prefer to keep some no carders in there - as that adds to the variety - and thus the skill sets are different across the games...

Okay, I've recorded a couple more games, but the standings update will have to wait for tomorrow, I think I'm coming down with some chest cold/nastiness this morning.

Anyways, what if we did something like break down the 18 game Era like so:

4 No Cards Games
8 Flat Rate Games
6 Escalating Games

Would that work for everyone?

That suits me fine. How would that tie in to the 8-player week? Or was that a separate proposition from the 'normal' 18-game era... I honestly forget.

Rail USA, Solar System, and Bamboo Jack all got voted down last time... I don't think any Age of Realms maps will pass with this crowd.

I like the idea of the 4,8,6 setup. It give a good variety. I also like the new game every monday idea. Keeps things moving and doesn't leave a lot of down time while waiting for other games to finish. Also I'm not sure if Odratsab posted the win list for game 1760955 so I will just to be sure.

Game 1760955 Game Batch 9
1st Odratsab
2nd Kidwhisky
3rd Rumondo
4th Trk1994
5th Vykingsfan64
6th OojakeoO

Okay, big update to the standings this evening. I hope you guys like it.

As far as new games are concerned, I'm going to wait a little longer before starting the weekly new game. I've got some school projects to finish up and we've still got a ton of currently active games.

Somebody catch BaldAdonis, he's running away from the rest of us!

Since each game batch adds one point per player to the league, do new players start with 40 + # games missed, so that they'll have the average number of points, or just with 40? I can see this affecting things when new players are added at the end of an era, they won't be able to catch the overall leaders.

Also, as long as you keep the escalating games coming, no one will catch me. :D

Given that technically we aren't supposed to be having such a high rate of turnover, I am leaving it at 40 points flat for new players entering the league. I want it to be that they have to work hard to climb to the top (theoretically).

Anyways, in other news, 2 more completed games with this update, so the standings have been adjusted accordingly. We have 15 active games at the moment, and I'm going to wait until we hit 10 left before starting the new 1 game per week system. :)
