March 26 Update--5 Rounds Down, 5 to go!

We've reached the halfway point of the tourney (about friggin time don't you think :P ). Here is the standings board from previous round and our point totals.

Bonobo retains a commanding lead of the board, as he is now the first player to become President more than once.

But there's still plenty of rounds available for every one of you still to catch up. We've seen plenty of players consistently secure the governorship (namely karelpietertje).

Round 6 will begin momentarily. Thank you for your commitment thus far! =D> =D> =D> =D>

Yea, the only thing that's been changed is the Fog setting

Hard to believe these used to be some of my favorite maps

Just can't wait to see whether our next President sets up Trench. That should be interesting. Maybe will limit the luck that is involved with many of these maps.

I have found my favourite maps have changed a lot too. I guess that's what happens when you play them too much.

Round 6 Presidential Elections begin

Postby WorldCup4James on Sun May 13, 2012 3:17 pm

May 13 Update

Standings updated. The Presidential elections for our 6th of 10 rounds has begun! We've got plenty of new governors now vying for the Presidency and the additional 2 points.

Meanwhile, Bonobo is seeking to earn another 4 points through his amendment games.

Lots of players have earned some points so things are going to get a lot closer towards the end of the tournament!

b00060, I have already removed you from the tournament, as you yourself requested. There really is no point making it public now for the other players, is it? It truly just reflects poorly on yourself, and is representative of your 4.6 rating.

Tournaments are designed to be competitive, and one of the cardinal rules of playing is to make no bones about losing points. There are different styles of play, call it "farming" for our "elite-ranked" Brigadiers and Generals who rape players of their 5 points on stack-and-attack maps, call it "noobing" for low-ranked players to win on "lucky" dice, call it what you want, but tournaments are here for you to prove through your skill that your way of playing is best, rather than to complain aggressively about other players' styles of play.

"Rivalries" are great though in politics, aren't they! Kind of like with Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr!

Ha nothing like an asshole making blanket comments about something that is completely not applicable. I do not have gold medals in every setting because I am a one trick pony like you suggest mr. treasure of galapogos joke. Please everyone visit the game Game 11241157 and let me know if a tournament ban was warranted. Mind you the banter in the game was not all, i was harassed by the players and tournament director in pms that were completely out of nowhere and were not responded to, so my only outbursts were actually in the game chat and not behind closed doors like this director would have you believe. What a bunch of thin skinned pansies.

July 8 Update

Standings updated.

Interestingly, today in 1775, the Olive Branch Petition was signed by the Continental Congress of the Thirteen Colonies, by which grievances were expressed against the British taxation and policies.

Round 7 is underway, NYC still with their city games going, but the rest have now progressed on to Governor elections.
