Well, today we embark on Phase Two!

There were a few false starts. I came home this morning, seeded everybody, made all the games, and then found out that I had made them all Sunny when Phase Two is supposed to be Foggy. I just couldn't stay awake long enough to remake all the games, so I went to bed. I woke up early this afternoon and remade them. All games have now been remade and invitations sent out. The delay does mean, however, that there was 8 hours between the time that I recorded everybody's current rank and seeded them, and the time they were invited. A few people gained or lost quite a few points during the day, so there are some oddball groupings. 8 hours is fairly close, though. I suspect nobody expects perfection.

Counting the game you won the other night, you have 14 kills, 3 wins, and 3 little sweeps, for a total of 29 points, in just 3 games!

Pandemonium is in charge of the main spreadsheet. It's Christmas time so I'll assume he's busy with family business and I'm not going to bug him.

@ Pandemonium: I have started going through the finished games and adding up the kills in chat, so when you go through the games, look in the chat window first. The kills etc. might already be listed.

@Janomike: Okay I finished going through all the games that are complete as of this morning. I posted kills, wins, and sweeps in chat. I didn't add up between games, but as a rough ballpark I'm guessing you have about 24 points this round? Second only to fuzzy right now, although of course there are a lot more games still active. Other people that seem to have done quite well so far in this round are wombat4, Jinks, Night Strike, and westbo. I think westbo had the only perfect sweep I've seen so far. This is all unofficial until Pan does the math.

*shrugs* Aw, thanks... it was a lucky round. At least one of those I shouldn't have gotten away with, I had to guess TWICE which way to go to find someone's last tert.

OK, Phase 2 is finally over, after pushing an early ending on the historic last Game 10230966 - I hope we learned a lesson here and from Phase 3 there will be a round limit of 30, or less - Dukasaur should decide...

With the long delay between Phase Two and Phase Three, it is possible that there will be some dropouts, in which case some of those might be able to get back in, but yes, as of this moment we will say goodbye to those seven.

A lot of people believe in round limits. I'm not sure if I agree. I think it might make the problem worse instead of better. In the games I've played in with round limits, I find the strategy gets distorted. Some people play more conservatively, hoping to milk it until the round limit arrives. So far in this tournament 95% of the games ended in round 12 or less, and only one went past round 18.

I'll gamble that the one deadlocked game is an anomaly, especially since Phase Three is a Sunny phase. If we continue having problems we can still go to round limits, but for now let's take a chance and try it without for this Phase.

Looks like volrazz has vanished from CC, so one of the 2-pt players gets to stay in.

They all have 2 kills, zero wins, and no head-to-head kills or wins, so we go to the very last tiebreaker (precedence). Wilkinc is at the very top of the precedence ladder. He was, in fact, the very first player to sign up, so he unquestionably gets this one!

Edit: I have another glitch. Looks like gameplayer has not renewed his premium. Since gameplayer is currenly the #2 seed with a CC score of 2961, and his replacement would be Crarg with a CC score of 1666, it would be a serious disruption of the seeding to insert Crarg directly for gameplayer. I'll do it if I have to, but I'd rather know in advance and re-adjust the seeding. I've sent a message to gameplayer to see if he intends to renew. We've waited this long, waiting another 12 hours or so won't kill us.

Edit 2: Okay, I got an answer back from gameplayer. He is not renewing his premium, and therefore cannot continue in this tournament. Crarg is inserted into the seeding between torres44cm and whakamole, and everybody above that moves up 1 seed.
