The Five Times:

1. Alone at midnight day it was released.
2. After work that same day with some co workers.
3. In Imax with old friend who had also already seen it but wanted to see it in Imax.
4. Went with some family members who had not seen it.
5. Imax again with girlfriend.

What's the point in watching The Dark Knight Rises if the Joker is dead.

I think The Dark Knight is the only movie I regret I didn't see first at the theater.

AoG's last time at the movies, Inception LMAO. What a uber overrated movie. They tried so hard that it went from a good movie to a lame one.

It caught my eye that the director of The Great Gatsby is the same guy that did this song.

I will likely see all of these movies at some point (although I only voted for the comic book movies).

Avengers - Fills me with trepidation because super hero movies with shittons of characters, generally don't work (e.g. Spiderman 3 or any of the X-Men movies). Related aside - I liked the first and second X-Men movies and I liked First Class, but if I didn't already know the characters and their relevant personalities, I would have hated it (e.g. Angel in the First Class movie was very different than her comic book counterpart, and that annoyed me).

Batman - Also fills me with trepidation. The Knightfall storyline was one of the best comic storylines I've ever read. And this film needs to do that justice (assuming that's what the film is about).

The one I'm most excited for? Lincoln. I think it could be awesome.

Really? The Dark Knight didn't convince you Jonathon and Christopher Nolan can tell an awesome Batman story?

And the biggest mistake they could have made was to adapt an existing Batman comic book. Far better to fully understand the characters and craft a story of their own around them, even if it borrows from other storylines.

Also, apparently this is Christopher Nolan's favorite Batman story (I haven't read it, use spoiler tags if you discuss, it's in the mail coming to me): http://www.amazon.com/Batman-Long-Hallo ... 886&sr=1-1

Long Halloween is excellent (also the Hush books, if you haven't read them).

As a comic book (and book) fan, I'm always afraid of movies ruining the comics or books (whether or not there are good movies before the next movie). I was nervous for The Dark Knight, I was nervous for Spiderman, I was nervous for LOTR (even after the first movie and the second movie).

Also, Knightfall, I believe, happened in the 90s. It's not really a current storyline. And I'm not saying it should be adapted for the movie necessarily; instead, I don't want them to f*ck up what was a good story.

I really liked the No Man's Land arc. I remember rereading that a bunch of times when I was a kid. Someone should really consider doing that plotline in a movie or three.

If it wasn't batman, but just some some new character would it still be an awesome film, or is it awesome because it's batman? And a follow up, what's your favourite cheese?

Speaking of favourites, here are my favourite dark knight scenes:

The bank robber confronts the joker about killing him but the joker says 'I kill the bus driver' and then the bus comes crashing through the wall!! kappow!!

Next favourite scene we're in court and Harvey dent is questioning the witness, when the witness pulls out a gun!! :o Harvey Dent disarms him though with a pow! and a bam! And then he says this totally awesome line about buying American.

What a movie.

I saw a trailer for The Woman in Black, and it didn't look awful. It could be interesting to see what Daniel Radcliffe can do post-Potter.

You could make the case that it was a bit Hollywood. But other than that it was definitely one of the better written and executed movies in recent years IMO.

Just seen that there's a John Carter of Mars movie this year. Don't know anything about it yet, love the idea.
