Postby DirtyDishSoap on Wed Apr 11, 2007 10:15 am

Well i spilled gas in my car and got it on my good coat, i cleaned up the liquid but the damn smell is still there, ive tried air fresheners and all sorts of other crap that just made it smell worst
does anyone have any suggestions to get rid of the smell?

(besides sit and wait, its been a little over a week now)

well if its in the airconditioning theres not much you can do i dont think, if its just the upholstery you could take them out and wash it, its always worked on my clothes, and incense that might cover the smell

and whats wrong with burning the car

You might want to try some sort of degreaser, since gas is a petroleum derivative. Check out Home Depot or some other equivalent big box hardware store, and ask them about the problem and what kind of degreaser they suggest.

Baking soda was a great suggestion. I'm also gonna go with baby powder.

I was hoping this would be about the song Gasoline by Seether.

But, since that's out, perhaps you could share with us HOW you spilled the gas in the car, that might be a good tale.
