Will Tiger ever be Tiger again?

So he won his second tourney of the year this this weekend. He's been pretty shitty this year though, so I don't want to freak out and think he's back already.

but the way he won it was like the old Tiger, so at least I'm optimistic.

Golf needs Tiger, in my opinion, because I don't think Rory is good enough to carry the sport.

Man, Bubba and Rickey Fowler are going to be good in the years to come, and they bring as much fun to the game as tiger did when he was younger, if not more. The thing about tiger making golf popular was that he dominated, and did so as a huge minority. Now that golf is pretty much a mainstream sport, it doesn't need tiger to maintain its following.

Now, Tiger is really the reason I got into golf, though I know I'm going to continue to watch golf post-Tiger. But I feel like overall, if this trend of "no one is allowed to win two majors" thing continues, golf's popularity is going to go down the poop chute.

Actually, viewership and playing numbers have been dropping. I just tried finding the article with the stats that I read a few months ago but came up empty... The main reasoning behind the drops in playing numbers is the growing cost and time to play a round.

I think if he continues to golf for the next 20-30 years, and joins the ranks of golfers who play competitively into their 'old-age', he has a decent chance to win a few more majors, plus any number of official PGA Tour wins.

yeah that's true. I have taken up golf, but never actually play a round cuz I don't want to spend $20 plus for greens fees, then 15+ for a cart (and the only times i've played, i've walked, with the exception of a free round+cart)

Shitty compared to his previous career. Obviously any normal golfer would kill to have the year he's having, but I was really disappointed by his Masters finish (especially when he got tied for fourth the previous two years, despite all the shit he's been through).

Unless someone else is paying, I never get a cart. It's not worth it and it's nice getting the exercise, haha. My theory is that if I hit the ball well, I'll just be walking straight the whole time and I really won't need a cart.

I have no problem with the walking really. It is nice to enjoy the weather (as most of the time I golf in optimal weather conditions) and it adds a little more activity in a sport that isn't really that strenuous in the cardio-vascular sense. But it's a pain in the ass when you're lugging your clubs for hundreds of yards and then have to keep your body aligned while swinging and shit. It's like an endurance test for your body.

Everyone else at the top of the rankings are sucking giant dick. I think the only person Tiger has to worry about is Furyk. Other than that I expect all of the other players at -1 to go above par.
