Steam is having a Total War deal for the next 20 hours or so. I've decided to pick up Empire Total war plus the dlc for for 7 and half bucks since a friend of mine recommended it. There is a package with Rome, Medieval 2, Shogun 2, Empire, and, and Napoleon for like 22 bucks as well.

Agreed. It gets a bit rote, but it is still fun to dink around with.

Sounds awesome. I have the Total War series upto Empire Total War, but that's about the extent that my computer can handle (takes for ever to load up and battle lag badly in single player modes, let alone mulitplayer).

Does the Rome and Medieval 2 games come with the DLC/other campaigns?

Rome would be-Barbarian Invasion (takes place just before the Dark Ages after the Empire split in 2) and Alexander (which is about being Alexander the Great and re-constructing his empire).

Medieval 2 would be- Britannia- various factions battle for control of the British Isles.
Crusades- Templars, Hospitallers, Egyptians, Turks, and Byzantines battle for control over the Holy Lands. Oh, and the Byzantines get a special unit, a medieval flamethrower that is absolutely devastating to infantry.
Americas- The Spanish (whose special unit is the Dragoon, very good unit) begin their conquest of the Americas, but have to deal with the Aztecs, the Mayas, the Apaches, and various other factions (including the English and French) during this time.
Teutonic-The Teutonic Knights are battling the Pagans in the Baltic region in order to turn the area Catholic. Backed by the Holy Roman Empire, they are a formidable force. However they have to deal with the Russians, Danes, Swedes, Polish, and the Mongols during this time.

Its weird; is the lack of continious (vs. discrete/chunky) progression intentional? I found it kinda weird that my first 10 or so full games (prob more, just trying to hide how bad I am) were identical in terms of gameplay (ie no new ships/gadgets/whatever).

Note I have only ever played Normal which may have been a mistake in hindsight.

I've only beaten easy twice, so it would probably be a good idea to start with that.

A game that I am looking forward to playing...the kickstarter backed adventure game from Tim Schafer and Double Fine that kicked off this whole crowd funding wave:

I forget, did you back their project? You watching the backer update movie things? Pretty interesting to get a glimpse inside the studio.

I've been feeling old school the past few days. In my spare time, I'm playing Age of Emperors 2: The Conquerors Expansion. Aztecs ftw.

Yep, I backed the project. The documentary has been really enjoyable, well worth the backing.

Still learning the intricasies of redstone in minecraft. Have the basics like powered rail, and auto-farms more or less down, still figuring out other things, like how to make a redstone repeater.

Torment: Tides of Numenera on Kickstarter has passed the 4 Million mark (with some extra funds coming in through paypal directly to them as well). It is now the highest funded game on Kickstarter, and continues to climb with about 2ish hours left. Looks like a decent fun game to play when it comes out...18 some months from now. Ha. But I figured it was worth a token $20 to get a copy of the game that will supposedly be so reactive and interesting from an RPG perspective. I'll just cut back on bananas for few weeks.

Torment on Kickstarter. 2ish hours to go if you want to hop in.

I just read that Sim City released some free DLC. It made me laugh, and I am glad I decided not to purchase this game.

The new addition is the Nissan Leaf Charging Station. Perhaps in an effort to convince you of how awesome the Leaf is, the station does not require any power, water, or even workers to function. It simply sits wherever you place it, and produces free happiness for nearby buildings. The station also does not create any sewage or garbage, and will even give some of your Sims (of all wealth classes) little electric cars to drive...It is undoubtedly the first of as many product tie-ins as EA can find.

Well Xbox minecraft finally got spawn eggs, the End (Endragon included), item frames, and you can walk on tilled dirt, among other things.

Only problem is, I have yet to be able to get into the End from creative, at least not by building an End portal. All of the Eyes of Ender go into the thing, and nothing happens. Kind of frustrating. And yes, I create it 3x3 and have tried it with and without lava below.

"Divinity - Original Sin" an RPG to make its way out in late 2013, is on kickstarter for some additional cash infusion to add more features to game. I've heard of the other Divinity games, but never played 'em. It looks kind of fun:

I just finished Hitman: Absolution I enjoyed it immensely!

With the new baby my gaming time has been cut drastically...

I am looking forward to The Last of Us coming out soon but it will probably be the last game I buy for my PS3
with the PS4 coming soon. And then I'm looking forward to Diablo III hope it transfers well to a console I'm curious as
to how it will play.
