Ladies and gentlemen, when you rise from your slumber at whatever time, how do you feel?

Depends.

I've had a few dreams where I was actually depressed when I woke up (either living in some sort of paradise, met the "perfect girl", am a professional wrestler, etc.) and a few where I wanted nothing more than to be awake (when I was younger, for some reason the main antagonist in all of my nightmares were the zombies from Alone in the Dark, the old pc game)

protip: the guy on the left is the zombie

I guess on average I'm just pissed that I can't sleep longer, even if I'm working off 12 hours of sleep.

If I wake up of my own accord, I usually feel pretty great. If I am awakened by an alarm clock and it doesn't happen to have been in sync with my sleep cycle, then I usually feel pretty crappy/hard to awaken.

Also, it makes a VAST difference if I've had any soda to drink the day before, as well.

I'm definitely more of a night person than a morning person. I also find I'm usually less enthused or positive feeling in the morning.

Me too, but I solve this problem by sleeping through the morning.

If I have to wake at 8AM for some reason I usually feel much shittier than if I wake at noon, even if I slept the same number of hours.

+1 reasons why jobs with strict hours can go f*ck themselves.

But that doesn't affect your life much does it? I've always thought your working hours are pretty flexible. So you can sleep to 09.00 if you want to.

I wake up with a variety of feelings, depending on how I wake up

Some days I have a new philosophic vigor to approach my days with if i had a particularly inspiring dream
others I have an immediate snap back to reality in the "oh shit I'm late for work/class" wake up
there is the casual don't have to do shit today wake up where I drift to a fro in consciousness
the grungy "well I guess I be productive and contribute to society by going to work today" when I actually wake up to my alarm
and finally there is the "where am I, and what the f*ck did I do last night?" awakening which is typically followed by the questions "Am I still drunk? should I go back to sleep?"

It depends entirely on what I am going to do that day, and to a lesser extent, what I did the night before and how much sleep I got. It ranges from jumping out of bed, full of vigour, ready to take on the world, to hitting the snooze button, and whining to my wife about not wanting to go to work.
