Doesn't this make sense given that we are a [r]epublican form of government? This makes everyone's vote worth much more as my vote is just going against other votes in my district. I would prefer every state change to this method, though I recognize each state's right to make this decision. This method will also give a third party a much better chance at making a difference because we all know third parties can easily win certain districts but never stand a chance at winning an entire state.
People in blue Austin Texas really don't even get a vote because they are watered out by every other district, just as the red area of Northern CA is completely irrelevant when paired up against San Fran & LA. Now politicians have to ensure they are liked by a majority of people in a majority of districts, rather than just worrying about a handful of 'battleground' states.
The grades tied to Welfare thing is just ridiculous though, I'll give you that any day of the week.
