I'm going to say birth is the correct answer here. Bathe your child with your clothes on.

+1

but daughter's a different... with a brother/sister it can be later or earlier depending on relative age difference.

I think with a daughter it might be 5?

As someone who does not have children I would like to reiterate how incredibly creepy I find this thread and note that no one has still explained to me why a parent would ever need to be naked around their child (other than in a sauna - hat tip to Natty Dread).

In any case, IIRC, the age of earliest possible memory formation in childhood is 2 so - if you do have to bathe with your child (versus want to) - it shouldn't be after that point.

A lot depends on circumstances. My parents were militant nudists and spent most of their time naked except to go to work. A lot of people I know are not quite that extreme, but still pretty relaxed about such things. If you live in a textile-optional household I don't see it as being necessarily creepy. It only becomes creepy if it is out of the norm for you.

If you have guilty thoughts about it, then you definitely need to stop. If something feels wrong, it probably is, at least for you.

(Note: Don't choose Durkasur to pick up your daughter)

Tbh, not ever seeing your parents nude could lead to actual neuroses so It's really not that bad of a thing. All kidding aside I'm going to assume that the baths that Pedronicus has with his child are merely bonding experiences and aren't "weird" or "creepy" in any way, or even remotely viewed so by any of those involved. These days you have to worry about someone taking your kid away for something entirely innocent so he's probably just covering his bases.

How many more years have I got before I'm arrested?

Arrested? Check with your local laws.

Beyond that, it really depends on the culture, upbringing.
Basically, when she starts "noticing" and "asking" questions you don't really want to answer.. she's too old. And note that there is a lot of variation there.

Other than that, before long she will decide she wants to bathe on her own, either because she hears other kids do it or because the tub is just too small.

I can remember a humerous bittersweet moment when my son (roughly 5) informed me he could "do it himself" and wanted "privacy" for his bath. A couple of minutes later, it was "MOM... can you wash my back, please?" ;)

That's what I thought as well. Once you hit a certain age it stops being creepy and starts being sad.

As for until then... how about whatever you're both comfortable with?
