If you mean a tendency by some gay people to anticipate a hetero being overly homophobic and therefore creating a negative response, yeah I think there is something there.

I didn't actually vote but it stands to reason that the voting should be even since gay is gay is gay. Unless in "gayest" saxi means which country has the most actual gay people protesting vs. not-gay people in which I would need more data.

I think the French guy is mad because he got tricked. He was all for gay marriage, but then the next thing he knows the words "mother" and "father" get banned, and he's all like wtf. He just thought that gays should have the right to get married, he didn't vote for banning the most important words that children hear. Maybe he should have listened to the "slippery slope" thingy people were warning him about. He didn't think it would effect him, until he got reported for using the word "father". No biggie, it's just a small fine for the first time you use bad words, like "mother" and "father".
