After watching that video, I remember how happy I was when the 80's ended.

I like the song a bit. But yeah the 90s were better for me too. I recorded something with my bass the other day. I'm terrible at the moment.

No. I really didn't like Duran Duran back then either. I liked the cars, VanHalen and ZZtop.

Here's one 80s song I liked but these were all before I was in any bands.

There might be a VHS tape of me playing with a band out there but I kind of doubt it survived. I have a cassette and a couple of rehearsals on CD none of it's great.

I agree with you 100%. I listened to all those bands too, but was heavy into the Stones, Bowie and others until I saw the Dead in 86.

Wow, I just typed up a huge post with videos and the iPad lost it.

Edit: it's 2.4 hours later... I took a little time to fix up the song I've been working on. I don't know how it's going to turn out but I don't suck on the bass as much as last week so that's a good thing.

Yeah I bought a magazine called 7ball in 1997 or so. I was going to church and thought I should checkout some Christian bands.

Found some good stuff. One song was from a band named The Orange County Supertones. They became my favorite band for about twelve years or so.

The reason I'm so addicted to forums is their drummer, one of the founding members left. I couldn't find any information about it. I went to their web site, clicked "chat" signed on to their forum and talked to their former guitarist about it.

I'm shocked this one failed so hard. I was hoping the guy that posted this

as first reply in the original thread would come by with some tunes.

I'm not surprised that we're so out of sync but, yeah.

Here's some '80s outfits.

I am also not satisfied with the title re-work even after the edit. Any suggestions?

So I'm having a weird day.

During my dream this morning, one of my kids was calling, "mommy" over and over. Eventually I half open my eyes and our son is at the foot of our bed. He sees me and settles. He says, "Daddy, I can't sleep because there's something in my bed." I utter, "Huh?" He says, "There's something orange in my bed." Being out of it and still partially asleep I asked, "What is it?" Then I thought he said, "It's a blanket." Figuring it was just an extra blanket I told him, "Well, bring it here."

He actually said, "It's on my blanket." But he wandered off. I don't know for sure but I think he was going to get it if he could. Mrs. dimes says, "Who were you talking to?" I tell her and being a much better parent than me she leaps in to action.

I start to actually sort of come to now because I hear, "Oh sweetie, did you barf? It's ok, it's ok..."

Now I get up, I check to make sure there is none on him, then go to the basement to start setting up the washing machine to sanitize his bedding. Get the first load started. Fortunately it was basically time for my wife to get up, shower and leave for work. She gave him a quick shower. Then he was feeling ok so he and I climbed back into bed and he napped an hour and a half before they needed to get up for breakfast and go to school.

Now I'm not complaining. I'm actually sharing how utterly spoiled and lucky I am.

The barf was basically chewed up hot dog. Not sure why it happened. They are quite healthy kids, they rarely get sick. I'm a bit of a jerk yet my wife claims to like me. Since we're together and somewhat of a team, she did not have to call in and miss work. We have a great washing machine with a sanitize setting that is in the process of cleaning the final load, a single sheet that took the bulk of what little actual bad happened.

We have good food and a warm dry basically clean place to sleep while it keeps raining out.

We are so fortunate in every way.

I was asked to possibly join a new band looking for a bassist, so while a machine does my laundry I'm working on learning songs. It looks like the band is not going to work out for me but I need the practice so I'm going to audition anyways. So I started with two simple songs I have played in the past, first being Tush by the Zed Zed Top, and the second song I was figuring out is Lil Devil by the Cult.

Love this band and especially the album, Electric. Simple straight ahead rock songs, nearly every track is terrific! So I'm watching/playing along with YouTube clips. Another amazing thing. What a fantastic tool, there's lots of junk on there but there is also some absolutely brilliant things also. For music it is like a Gold mine. I was playing my bass into this iPad and using the YouTube feature on a bluray player to watch the videos. It automatically plays the next video matching the word you searched so I just let it go and played along with several versions of the song.

It gets to a "Learn to play Lil devil on guitar." Some times these are great, some times they are a disaster, this one was pretty good. I was ready for a break so even though I don't even play regular six string guitar. I watched it and learned about the musical structure of the song from the melody side.

I already mentioned it is a simple song but as the guy laid out everything that Billy Duffy plays I watched and saw just how simple each part actually is. Yet it all comes together to make something that to me is perfect musically!

There are probably plenty of folks that would consider me "mental", but I
find marriage to be an absolute blast, most of the time. It really is great.

Sometimes, even though I'm pretty sure to lose that game. Even if your wife is better she'd hate me pretty quick.

Also I'm totally married to someone that should be looking after a man who can't cook and do laundry etc. my wife is a good cook and even better baker. I don't really care that she likes to make cake, jam, cookies etc. Kind of like she does not eat beef and bean burritos and I can make those.

I am glad she makes good chicken pot pie. I have never figured that one out.
