A giveaway of free toothbrushes in London caused mayhem at the Waterloo underground station.

Evening Standard wrote:A promotional stall handing out free electric toothbrushes to commuters at Waterloo station was forced to shut down amid safety fears today after hundreds of people overwhelmed staff and caused “mayhem” on the concourse.

Rail bosses ordered the closure of Colgate’s “brushswap” event amid safety fears.

Toothbrushes are considered a rare and exotic implement in British culture and are highly sought after.
