American firm reprimanded for violating Chinese IPR

China rules against Apple over iPhone patent claim

Beijing's Intellectual Property Office has ruled against Apple in a patent dispute brought by a Chinese handset maker.

The iPhone 6 and 6S models are similar to Shenzhen Baili's 100C phone, the authority ruled.

In theory, this could lead to iPhone sales being halted in Beijing but sales may be continued if Apple launches an appeal.

China's crude nationalism basically says that everything you can think of was done by China first. It's no surprise that they're claiming that Confucius invented the IPod, or whatever nonsense is coming out at this point.

My personal favourite is that China is telling universities not to use books that teach Western ideas. They should teach Marx, communism, and the like instead.

That's the Karl Marx born and raised in Hunan province then, I guess.

CNBC: Here's the Chinese company claiming Apple ripped off its patent

But what is 100C (also branded as 100+)? CNBC was unable to find an official website for the brand — either in Chinese or English, but reports indicate it is a model owned by Shenzhen Baili Marketing Services.

Some online photos of 100C phones showed a web address on their backside "100jia.cn," but that appeared not to currently exist.

A phone number listed online for Shenzhen Baili proved to be for a disconnected line, and an inquiry to an email address failed to successfully deliver.

...

Beijing Business Today struggled to find many details about Baili, writing that the company did not seem to be a patent troll, but that it went a long time without introducing new products and did not appear to have an official website.

In other words... American firm reprimanded for being an American firm.
