Cutest animals NOT on CC

Postby btownmeggy on Mon Jul 23, 2007 9:50 am

I'm going with the badger!!

I love all badgers, but I must say, at the risk of sounding nationalistic, that the American badger is much cuter than the European badger.

But, did you know there are also African badgers?! They're very cute also. Okay, okay, I'll post pictures of all three kinds and you can decide for yourself which you like best:

Eurasian badger: Image

African badger, also called the Ratel (isn't that a cute name?): Image

Which animal (that is also not a person on CC) do you think is the cutest?

The much-maligned Aye-Aye, a species of lemur.

I've liked them ever since I saw some footage of one in a documentary a couple of years back. What you don't get from these images is that they can seem eerily human when they move. One of them I saw looked like a little old man as it moved.

Plus they have a really long middle finger, which they sniff when hunting for food. I find it hilarious watching this, for some reason.

And some footage of a baby aye-aye.

I love badgers! There is no way the American Badger is cuter, the markings are too over the top and its bum isnt big enough.

What's the deal with badgers breaking peoples legs? Does it actually happen or is it just something my parents told me to keep me from running naked through the forests?

I give you... THE WOLVERINE

Easily the most vicious of the weasels, has been known to fight even grizzly bears. Also a very cunning animal, able to spring traps without getting caught.

Fennecs! They are a type of domesticated African fox.

They're pretty damn hard to get though, and have a lot of special needs.
