Just remember that you have to download the patches and install them sequentially. 6.2 won't work without 6.1 for example. And you do need a 1.2 patch for all of the patches to be installed. It should all be there on the website.

If your having problems installing the patches also make sure that you have completely gotten rid of RTW on your computer. After uninstalling it I went to the start menu, right clicked, explore, found the files that weren't uninstalled (usually just the save games), and dragged them to the recycling bin. Hopefully that helps.

If you have a problem let me know and I'll help out as best I can.

when I try to download the 1.2 it says HTTP not found. Ive tried dowloading it, but it doesnt work.

Hmmm....I'm having that same problem. I'll try to email it to you and see if that works.

EDIT: Emails not really working. Not surprised though. I didn't really expect it to. I'll try and think of something else.

Ok, try downloading it from this site:

http://www.rometotalrealism.org/download.html

and let me know how it goes. Kinda helped myself here as I didn't know they had updates for Barbarian Invasion

You don't need those if you download the full 6.0 patch. That patch covers all the previous patches (1.3, 1.4, 1.5, etc). You only need 1.2, 6.0, and then (if you want) the 6.1, 6.2, 6.2 Music Addon, and 6.3.

Of course though, it should be noted that I am talking about installing the Gold Edition of RTR. Thats the one that I currently have though I may change that to Platinum since I have RTW Barbarian Invasion.

Hmm.....That is wierd. I have a series of questions for you...

1) Did you completely uninstall RTW including the files that you have to manually uninstall??

2) Did you download and install the 1.2 patch??

3) Did you install the patches in order?? (for example, 6.0 won't work if 6.2 is already installed)

Lol, just make sure you uninstall every trace of RTW and then install 1.2 and the rest of the patches you want in order. Let me know how it goes.

You should be able to download it from this website:

http://www.rometotalrealism.org/download.html

Just scroll down until you see the

~ RTR 6 Gold (For RTW version 1.2)

section and you should be able to find it from there.

ok, so I got 1.2. although it screwed up my game. I managed to fix it, and now am trying 6.0. Most of the websites havent worked so far, and i want to know what you used. Most of these I will just leave to downlaod, and they freeze and wont continue. Others will get corrupted.

Really?? I downloaded them from the website that I gave to you earlier. I don't know why it would screw up your game. The only reason I can think of is that RTW wasn't entirely uninstalled. Once you uninstall the game you need to follow these steps.

1) goto start

2) right click

3) click explore

4) open up program files

5) find the activision file

6) delete the file

Then RTW will be completely uninstalled from your computer. I also don't know why the files are corrupted and not downloading properly. They should download just fine. I'll give it a shot from that website that I gave you and see how it goes.

so I downloaded and installed 6.0, but the game was still the same. when I got the the main menu however, the gasme was spazzing out, and wouldnt let me click anything. I had to shut down my computer for it to close, because force quiting wasnt even working. So I re-downloaed it, and the files were corrupted. Yet when i tried it from a different site and finished the installation and everything, something came up saying I already had all of this.

Rome Total war is so brilliant! Especially online, have you played any of the other Total wars or the rome mods? As you can proberbly see from my sig, i'm a fan of medieval II but i also like the old Medieval for its campaign. As for mods, The rome total war: Middle earth, forth Eorlings is unbeaable, especially with the campaign

It'll be nice to actually fight with ships. In RTW, you can send 2 equal ships against each other and lose horribly.
