I really thought they could pull it off this year, will anybody else ever pull off an undefeated season again?

nope, and i still don't count the '72 Phins as undefeated cuz they played 14 reg. games, as opposed to the 16 reg. we play in today's NFL

I follow the Saints because that's where I grew up and the Panthers because that's where I live now. I just really dislike the Dolts ever since Irsay (sp?), like a thief in the night, stole the team away from Baltimore in the cover of darkness. No class whatsoever. Yes, I have a long memory . . . :D

if the cubs make it to the world series... we are bringing a seeing eye goat, and pretending to be blind.

Already been done. doesn't matter if it was 2 games shorter Phins still did it. And now that the Colts have been defeated I can root for them the rest of the year.

Oh and 1 last thing. GOD DAMN YOU FALCONS!!!!!

Is that frustration or anger with the falcons? I meant would anybody ever do it again

A little of column A, a little of column B. The fact that I still care enough to be angry at them shows that I still care and therefore am frustrated.

I think eventually there will be another and hopefully it will be the Falcons.

Yes. The Miami Dolphins did it in 1972.

but, with only 14 regular season games......the regular season games now are 16......the colts went 14-0 last year (i think, didn't they?) does that make them "undefeated"?

has anyone else gon 14-0 or even 14-2? then we'd have an argument

The Colts went 14-2 in 2005 but i think they only won 13 in a row not 14.

Dolphins in '72 won more than 14 games in a row. They went on to win the Super Bowl so that would be 17 in a row right? There for they did more than just 16 games in a row. It's easier to slip up in the playoffs against good teams than in the regular season when you play whosever on your list because the teams are tougher and therefore those 3 wins should count.

So if a team makes it through the whole regular season undeafeated and loses in the first round of the playoff's, their achievement is unequal to that of the Dolphins? What if the made it to the Super Bowl and lost? They'd go down as the longest winning streak, but are the still lesser than the 'phins?

No if that happens they will be the best, but right now we are talking about how the Dolphins streak should count.

Two more games or not I think that the team should still have to go on to win the superbowl to be considered better than the 72 Dolphins. If they can't win the big game then they are not the best team ever....They aren't even the best team that year.

I agree.

sometimes the best team loses the super bowl. look no further than the Bills. missed FGs shouldnt stop them from being the best team that year.

if a team even goes 15-1, then wins the SB, i consider them better than the Phins

So you can lose the Super Bowl but still be the best team? Why play a championship game then? The Super Bowl determines who is the best team that year. You could win every game through the year 50 to 0 but if you lose the championship you aren't the best team...kind of the reason they call the winner the champion.

no, you don't get it. the Winner is the Champion, per se. but, sometimes the best actual team lost in the SB, or in the Division, whatever.......
