First round is winding down to a close.

At the moment, 12 points is the minimum needed to progress, but that could still increase slightly. Hoping we avoid a tie for #60--or, if we have a tie, there's a clean tiebreaker--but not worth running all the permutations quite yet.

Hope to get Round 2 started shortly. Once we are sure of the 60 qualifiers, I'll do that (even if there is a game or two lingering from the first round).

Please double-check your scores. If anyone has a question, let me know.

I believe it's now impossible to avoid a tiebreaker for the final spots. Here's where we stand:

1) As of right now, anyone with 14 points or more qualifies for Round 2. That means we know 56 of the 60 qualified players.

2) There will be a tiebreaker for players finishing on 12 points no matter what happens.

3) The only question is how many players end up on 12 points and how many spots will be available. We need Frito Bandito's, Ratrin's and Silvertop's final games to finish first.

4) Since none of the players on 12 points won a standard 5-player game, the tournament rules call for a multi-player tiebreaker on the Ireland map, using standard tournament settings. HOWEVER, that could take several weeks and really slow us down. IF (and I stress the "if") there is a clean scenario with an even amount of players on 12 points (4 is the only possibility), I will work to arrange 1v1 matches, using a random draw, to conduct the tiebreaker so long as all players are in agreement.

No matter what, Silvertop's final game--the England terminator game--will take a little while. So Round 2 is going to face a bit of a delay regardless. Will work to move us forward as quickly as possible.

5-way tie for the final spots. Ireland tiebreaker created, with a 20-round limit and tournament settings. Top 3 advance to the second round.

As this sort of tie was not planned for, the following rules apply:

1) The last 3 players standing in this game advance
2) If the game goes to the round limit, the 3 players with the most troops advance
3) If there is a tie at the round limit, the ties will be broken by who had the most points going into the game

Good news. General Flashman has left the site, so he's eliminated. That means we have 4 players for 3 spots.

I sent two 1v1 games out with a 20 round limit on the London map. The winners advance to Round 2. The losers will play a final tiebreaker to determine the 60th spot.

Thanks for the reminder. Working on it now.

Separately, slytown may have deadbeatted. I know he's had some health issues, so I'm giving him a little extra time. But if he doesn't return, we'll have to adjust from the Denmark match going forward.

Had to remove slytown from the tournament. chidone, as the highest ranking player from the first round who didn't advance, steps in as alternate. Per tournament rules, he gets the 12 points that slytown already won in Nordic.

Germany invites will come shortly.

Additionally, if a player wins Denmark via the 'objective' method, that secures them the 5 points for the win. They must actually eliminate a player from the map to get the +2 bonus.

Scoreboard fully updated. Going to let all the Europa games finish before I send the assassin and 1v1 invites.

Still awaiting confirmation on premium prize.

machrs has deadbeatted so I had to re-work his assassin game into a 3-player match.

Unforunately, there's no easy way to secure an alternate for the 1v1 games. If you draw machrs in the 1v1 matches, you get a bye and a 5-point win. Consider yourself lucky!

Last set of games sent for Round 2. Given Beko the Great's withdrawal, it means the top 40 players will be all players who fall on line 43 and above in the scoreboard. Right now, 37 points is the magic number.

A couple of late deadbeats have prompted forfeits. If your 1v1 game disappeared, don't worry about it.

We are almost ready for Round 3. Again, line 43 and above advance. 37 points is still the cut-off at the moment.

40 points is the new threshold.

38 of the 40 qualifiers are known and the draw for Round 3 is partially done. Just sorting out the final couple spots.

Wish you had said that at the beginning of the round!

LittleMao in as a reserve.

All standard games sent for the third round. Will get a little bit further along with these and then create/send the terminator matches.

Scoreboard fully updated.

Lot of games are about to end around the same time. Hopefully the remaining 7 standard games finish up this week. Assassin games will come once they do. 1v1 games will come once we get close to finishing the terminator maps.

Spots 2-22 on the scoreboard make the final round.

It's not as much of a lead at it looks like as I've completed more games than most others, but thanks though :)

On a subject unrelated, Peter, will the winner of this tourney be awarded a premium membership?

You know, I still haven't got official confirmation on that. Let me check (again). Last version got a 6-month premium and this one has more games, so can't see why not.

Yeah and I haven't been as fast about things as I'd like--new job in real-life and all that sort of thing. Glad everyone has stuck it out. I think the next Round will be fast (once I get the 1v1s out for this round).

All -

Terribly, terribly sorry that life has got in the way and slowed this tournament down to a crawl. I'm going to make the final games for Round 4 now. Hopefully will get us into Round 5 in the next couple weeks and then it's the light at the end of the tunnel.

We have a tie for 20th place on 84 points. The first two tiebreaks do not apply, but luckily the third does. t4mcr53s2 and RedBaron0 had 4 common games in the tournament... t4mcr53s2 won 2, RedBaron0 won 1. t4mcr53s2 advances.

5-player standard games about to be sent for the Final round. Everyone is mathematically alive. Realistically, though, it seems a 5-player race at best (and possibly a 2-player race).

Good luck.

Mizzou deadbeat means RedBaron0 is back in when we send the terminator invites.
