Interview with lord voldemort
This week we had the chance to talk with organizer, lord voldemort. All questions are reader submitted, so if you have something you want to ask an upcoming organizer; PM me. Q: Hello, lord voldemort.
A: Wassup!!
Q: Why did you join CC?
A:actionah mate got me hooked to risk. Then went to one of his friends’ places and they were all there, laptops out playing rt against each other.
I was like “Gotta get me some of that” Q:What made you want to start running tournaments?
A:i Got bored one day. Thought “meh why not looks like fun”
Q: Where did you come up with your tournament ideas?
A: I read a bit but I watch like billions of movies my DVD collection at home is close to 1000 all legit (no illegal downloading for me
So yer mostly from that. Together with no sleep at 2am I produce some magic. Q: Do you prefer to run tournaments alone or have a long discussion with others and then run it with several people?
A:hmmm well I’m doing EIOT at the moment which is great fun. But on my own is cool.
Q: Describe the experience of your first tournament ran, and first played in.
A:First tourny ran..WAS A DISASTER, games took forever to play, I screwed up PMs. Didn’t go well at all.
But I stuck through itFirst tourny played in I’d have to check *runs off to my games* Battle for the Best run by Jessio710

Q: How many tournaments have you run and how long have they been? How many at once?
A: Ah completed only 1 (I know amazing) um 4 in ongoing 1 in sign ups at the moment.
Q: What is your favorite tournament you've run? Why?
A: So far “Who is the Fellowship of the Ring.” Pretty much a series of mini tournies representing a character. Legolas tourny is started and its fun. Something different. And I’m doing a mini 16 player tourny for most characters in Lord of the Rings saga
Q: What is your favorite tournament you’ve played in?
A:Mission: Survive The Longest!!

So far out of the 2 that have finished I’ve got 1st and 2nd. In the ongoing one I’m sitting pretty with a bye week this week . Great tourny idea Ricco!Q: What is your favorite tournament of all time?
A:Mission Survive the longest (sorta the same question there)
Q: Is there a specific type of format that you tend to gravitate towards? Why? Is there a format that is your favourite?
A: Not really. Try to be a bit varied. I’m trying not to confuse things. So I make it quite easy to follow but fav would be a season kinda tourny, with a ladder kinda stuff.
Q: Overall, are you playing a lot in tournaments? If not, then why and where do you find your games to play?
A:Yer I play in quite a few at any one time. Prolly 50% of my games would be from tournies the rest come with some mates on CC (nagerous, Skittles! etc) and then games with my clan
Q: Were you excited about your first tournament win?
A:Yer heaps I put the link in my sig and everything. ‘twas awesome
Q: How excited where you with your first CC win?
A: Yer not heaps. At first I was unsure if I liked the site. I could tell that I was gonna get addicted. And baseball season had just started. But I gave into addiction. After I signed up and got premium I missed training a few weeks at baseball. Almost got drop from Division 1. I definitely got in trouble though
Q: What is your most disappointing tournament loss to date?
A:hmmm. Well I think ‘Bulletproof Monk’
I went into round 2 highest point scorer. And I’m unsure if i got through round 2 having won 2 games and dominated 2 more. Silly 3 player games
Q: In your mind, what makes a successful tournament?
A:Smoothness and something cool. Not necessarily a theme but just that you know *spark* that *sass* (yes I can make up words too)
Q: What do you consider to be the most successful tournaments you've seen run?
A:’Point Grabbers’/’You’re eliminated’ series they have had many of them and they run so good and are still really popular
Q: Is there anything in particular that you dislike about tournament organizing?
A:Used to be PMs but that’s solved. Finding reserves is fair annoying. Especially if no one is on MSN. Means I gotta make a thread and I look desperate.
Q: With experience comes the wisdom of knowing what mistakes you've made in the past so you can avoid them in the future. What mistakes have you made in your tournaments that you are sure to avoid in future tournaments?
A: I made my first tourny way to big and complicated. Made me not wanna organise anymore.
Q: If you could change one thing about Conquer Club in general, what would it be?
A:ummm...well right now

Q: If there was something that the Conquer Club administrators could implement into the game to make tournaments easier to manage, what would it be? Similarly, is there anything you would like to see taken away from Conquer Club to make running tournaments easier?

Q: If you were Tournament Director for a day, what would you do?
A:Let them have their job back cause they do stupidly awesome work and could do it much better than me.
Q: Is there anything that you would recommend to encourage new tournament organizers?
A:Patience my young padawan.
Q: What websites/programs are your best tools for creating a tournament?
A:Microsft Excel and Microsoft Word, that or pen and paper.
Q: What is the biggest obstacle to running a tournament?
A:Well right now my health. I’m in hospital it feels like every 2nd week
Q: Do you have any particular goals for yourself as far as tournament organizing is concerned? If so, what are they?
A:umm I want to make a mark for myself. With the ‘Who is the Fellowship of the Rings’ series. And my 1v1 league. Have many seasons of that
Q: How long do you think you'll continue organizing tournaments?
A:For as long as I’m around here
Q: Who is your favorite tournament organizer (excluding yourself)?
A:Too hard. Ricco, ‘zony, Nate, Opie
Q: Why did you pick the name lord voldemort?
A:I’m in love with Harry Potter, ey. On that note talking to wicked she thought I was like 14 (I’m 19) and yer so if i could change my name I might consider it.
Q: If you could have any super power, what would it be?
A:Prolly the force (like a Jedi)
Q: What weights more, a ton of bricks or a ton of feathers?
A:To that I answer with a question, if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around what sound does it make??
Q: Have you killed anyone before?
A:ah....well see the thing is *runs*
Q: If you died tonight, where would you go?
A:Heaven with Jesus

A: Well as said...’Who is Fellowship of Rings Series’ and my 1v1 series...that will keep me busy for a bit but there are some ideas around my head somewhere

, 41 maps has been going on since late January, and EIOT has been going on for a few weeks. The rest of the tourney's I have run or helped with have been rather short. 
, and Gilligan and White Moose are fun 
and I had got to the semi-finals and this was before I had won Don't take too Long.
I try to be more selective now when I sign up but it is hard pacing myself. Otherwise I search for team games to join as well as terminator and assassin. 
I was thrilled to win my first in Back to the Basics IV, then won another yesterday in Bart's Joined Powers II. Now I really want tournament winners medals implemented.
