Let's go with Pele.

And if Pele is incorrect, I'll go with ole "Hand of God" Diego Maradona...

Incidentally, I once saw a youtube video where during a celebration after a goal, Maradona appears to do a line of blow off the back of some dude's hand. Priceless.

pretty much incorrect on all of the answers thus far....pele is the all time leader with 15 but they came over a number of WC's

ill give it a bit longer, and then ill just give up cause im not good at asking reasonable questions lol.

the answer was just fontaine from a little ways back in the day with 13 goals in one world cup. Note...those were all of the goals he scored in world cup competition.

open question.

Which major American sports team holds the record for most consecutive playoff appearances, and for what length of time?

Sorry if this was earlier in the thread.

Hmm, you are Massachusetts oriented, but the Red Sox and Celtics have had occasional bad years.

I will go with the Bruins.

Damn, I've done a great job of typecasting myself. Anybody want to take a swing at how long the Bruins playoff streak lasted? Serbia?

In what US state can the largest high school gymnasium be found?

Hint #1 It is used for basketball

Bonus points for the city and mega bonus points if you can identify the high school team that plays there. My first born child if you can name two NBA players that came from there

Nope. Close on the State though. You are all heathens for not knowing about the *hint* hysteria involved with this state.

538 is correct

The largest high school gym is in New Castle, Indiana. It seats 9300 people, and over 10,000 during sectional and regionals (temporary wood bleachers).

The New Castle high school team is know as the Trojans. Kent Benson and Steve Alford were the NBA players from New Castle.

New Castle is also home to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame.

Massachusetts might have been where Naismith lived when he invented basketball, but it was perfected in Indiana.

Your go 538
