I've always loved the idea of challenging a Dojo.

Please read the very short and informative wikipedia article above, to get into the spirit of the tourney.

4-person groups sign up as a "Dojo"; whether they are a clan, a group of friends, or they make a post in the forum asking for help.

Sign up info required - Please, only one player need post this info. The other three players need to post that they are indeed a part of the team, or send me a PM indicating it:

Setup: All maps will be casual, sequential, 1vs1. Bonus Cards, Fortifications and Fog of War is determined by Martial Art Style.

Each Dojo Master picks one of his students to go and challenge another Dojo. Say we have 7 Dojos sign up. (We can scale the tournament appropriately based on 4, 7, 10, or 13 Dojos.) The Master of the Dojo assigns each student an opposing Dojo, and each student then begins a 1vs1 against the 3rd Most Talented Student. Should he emerge victorious, he would then fight a 1vs1 against the 2nd Most Talented Student. Should a student continue onwards and defeat the Most Talented Student, and then the Dojo Master, that Dojo is defeated. The winning Dojo will be defeated the least number of times.

Dojo Masters, if you have any doubt as to any players ability to consistently join games, feel free to keep a reserve list of similar ranks.

Prize: I will purchase 12 months of premium membership for the winning Dojo Master. I will apply the 12 months of matched premium to the three students, in 4-month chunks. EDIT: If I can instead purchase 2 6-month subscriptions, I will then give all 4 participants 6-months of premium membership. If an entire team wishes the split differently, that's fine as well.

Disclaimers: I realize that rank does not necessarily equal talent and luck in 1vs1, which makes things more interesting in my opinion. If someones rank changes, they will remain in the assigned talent spot that they held when I accepted their Dojo.

That would be my preference as well, but I read the tournament handbook carefully while putting this together, and it sounds like the membership that I actually buy might have to go to just one person. If I am given the option to split it up in 6-month chunks, I will do so.

It has to be a number divisible by 3+1 [(4x3)+1 in this case], if each student is to challenge the same number of Dojos as his fellows. I could have settled on 4, 7, 10, 13, etc., but I chose 13 so that Freemiums can still technically play (Though it may require all 4 spots), while providing enough room for all the teams that are interested. If 2 more teams sign on, and I don't get more interest, we will go with 10. 52 is also the maximum number of players I want to manage in my first tournament.

As it stands, if we have 13 Dojos, each student will be assigned by their Dojo Master to challenge 4 other Dojo's each. I thought about having the Dojo master challenge Dojos as well, which would even out how many battles everyone receives, but I wanted to stick as close to the theme as possible, meaning the Dojo Master will only face those that are worthy.

Edit: Oh yes, and the more Dojos we have, the less likely there is to be a tie due to undefeated Dojos.
