CC Olympics 2008

Because of the rarity and distinction of an Olympic competition, this tournament is sanctioned as An Official Clan Competition. Every competitive clan may enter 1 team for competition, which must have a minimum of 6 competitors and a Team Captain. An individual can only compete for 1 clan and must have a premium membership.

Here are the events being offered for competition in the 2008 CC Olympics:

Track Events

Singles

110 meter hurdles
200 meter
400 meter
800 meter
1500 meter
Marathon
Quads

4x100 meter relay
4x400 meter relay

NOTES:

• Every event must have a representative from your team. Track events need 2 representatives each.
• A single player CANNOT play in more than one of the 1v1 or more than one of the Singles events. Identical teams cannot participate in more than one team event (i.e. one triples team can not play all 4 triples events). Track events are excluded from this rule.
• PLEASE have most of your team with their events at the time of registration. Any changes require a repost of your full roster with all corrections/changes. Previous submissions will be voided.

I am still slightly unclear on the numbers of participants needed per clan as a minimum, specifically as pertains to the Track Quads.

2 teams for 2 quad events, but we MAY have duplicated players/teams... does this mean:

A> A 5 player minimum:
4x100---ABCD, team 1---ABCE, team 2
4x400---ABCD, team 1---ABCE, team 2

B> A 5 player minimum, no identical teams:
4x100---ABCD, team 1---ABCE, team 2
4x400---ABDE, team 1---ACDE, team 2

C> An 8 player minimum, with no individual competing in the SAME EVENT more than once?
4x100---ABCD, team 1---EFGH, team 2
4x400---ABCD, team 1---EFGH, team 2

D> An 8 player minimum, no player competing in the same event more than once, and no identical teams?
4x100---ABCD, team 1---EFGH, team 2
4x400---ABEF, team 1---CDGH, team 2


I believe the intent was for option C, but I am uncertain enough I would not choose to lay money on the proposition. Please advise, as this affects event scheduling and our possible attendance.

After reading your post, I realized that I was really unclear on the 2 players for every track event. In the original post, I included the minimum number of players per clan would be 6 because I was planning on each clan only submitting one quads team per event. The singles track events will have 2 players each, but the quads ones will have only 1 team each. These teams will be something like:

4x100: ABCD
4x400: ABCE

I will reword the first post to clarify.

I now understand clearly your intent. It's not a problem, that's what we're (S&GN) here for. Regrettably, the chance of having an S&G Nazis team is looking remote at this juncture. At least two of our members are competing as members of other clans, and early response is... underwhelming. I still hold out hope we may manage to pull a team together. If not, I shall be satisfied by my small contribution...

The Freestyle setting on both the doubles and triples events have been removed.

It will stay for the singles events, but there are stipulations.

If there is any evidence of anyone using unfair freestyle tactics such as running the clock out for a double turn, the offending player will receive last place in that game and may be expelled from the tournament. The Olympics are built on honor and fair play, so I will have nothing less than the same in this tournament.

That is correct, only things that have been announced in the thread have been changed. My computer doesn't like when I try to post a spreadsheet image, so my g/f did it for me. But she's out of town.

What is up with all the flat rate cards in doubles and triples games. A lot of doubles / triples players prefer no cards or escalating.

I'm not really sure why I did that. If a bunch of people ask about it, I'll consider a revision.

I`m trying to gather a team for this event, and I`d also like to see this change. Keep 1 or 2 flat rates for variety if you want, but IMO, most should be no card or escalating.

This week has been a little hectic for me, but I'll be recording rosters and other things with this tournament over the weekend.

I have a couple exciting announcements concerning this tournament:

1) lackattack is donating 3 years of premium membership to the winning clan. This premium membership may divided in no less than 6 month increments among some of the members of the winning clan. The winning clan will receive instructions from me at the end of the tournament. I MIGHT donate 1 year of premium to the MVP of the tournament, but that will depend on my financial situation at the end of the tournament.

2) WidowMakers has taken time out of his busy personal and foundry lives to makes some medals for this tournament. These event-specific medals will be awarded to every medalist. They pay respects to both ConquerClub and the Beijing Olympics. I will unveil these medals later in the tournament.
