[GP/UI] Unlimited Adjacent Fortification

[GP/UI] Unlimited Adjacent Fortification

I would like to propose a new fortification mode that is a cross between unlimited and adjacent, wherein a player can make an unlimited number of fortifications, but can only move any given army one space per turn. While I realize that this may be somewhat difficult to code, because you'd have to "tag" which armies had already moved this turn, it's more "realistic" in the sense that any given body of troops can only move so far in a given amount of time, but the mobilization of one body of troops doesn't really prevent another army in a different theater from moving around....

Forgive me if this has already been suggested. I looked around a little and couldn't find it...

no thats dumb.
it seems too confusing, and it would jsut probably end up as a mess of fortifications scrambled everywhere

Unlimited is unlimited adjacent fortifacation, its just streamlined, why would you want it to be the way you've suggested?

I don't think you understand.

He meant something like this. You have western austrlia, Indonesia and Siam.

You have 7 on W.A:, 4 on indonesia, and 5 on siam.


You can move 6 from W.A. to indonesia, but you cant move them any more(because they got tired).
You then, although you have 10 on indonesia, you can move only 4 to another teritorry.


I give the idea 4/10, like it but i like the current game types just fine.

It is an interesting idea but probably real confusing during game play.

I always like it when someone disagrees witha an idea it is "dumb." Why can't people give other people the same respect that they receive? Maybe that would be to much to expect.

No unlimited is unlimited chained fortify. Adjacent is as he described it only fortifying armies that are adjacent to each other. Whilst I kind of like the idea I think adjacent and chained work better strategically and another unlimited is 1 to many more :)

This is the way I used to play with my mates when I used to play risk on a proper, hasbro-endorsed board.

I'd love to see it as another fortification type, but I can see that it would be a lot harder to code than the current fortification types.

You summed it up much more nicely, when i read the first post i was like, wtf this is dumb, but the idea is really good actually.

I like it alot, would probably play mostly these kinds of games if it came online.

I think its interesting, but we already have 3 different types of fortifications.

We can get rid of adjacent forts then, they r the worst.

suggestion: 1 border fortification for all armies

Suggestion Idea:
I would like to see a mode where all you armies can be fortified over just one border.

Specifics:
I mean that at the end of your turn, every armies has 1 mp. this means that you can move all your armies at the end of your turn, but not over great distances. I saw in luxdelux, that it is possible

Why it is needed:
We have at the moment the folowing fortification table:
............................Long distances.....Short distances
All your armies.........Unlimeted..................?
1 country..................Chained...............Adjacent

This means that we have an fortification gap.
In practice this works as follows. If you play a large map, like world2.1 you can have your armies gathered together in a few turns. (not with chained and adjacent) And after that turns when there starts a new era, in wich you fight from your own continents, you can not easely bring your armies from one battle zone towards the other. This will give whole new tactics to unlimeted fortification...

I think he means Unlimited Adjacent. You have unlimited fortifications, but you can only move each guy once. So, you have, lets say, this lame ass map ("-"'s representing borders):

A-B-C-D-E-F

You can fortify all your guys from A to B, and all the guys that were on B when you ended your attacks to C, and all your guys form E to C, ect., but not from A to C, or from F to C, ect. You also cannot move your guys that you moved from A to B, to B to C that turn.

Yep, it is too confusing. The idea is good but it would be hard to keep track of how many you have already moved. Say you fortify your 10 on A to your 10 on B. Then, it would be very confusing because you would only be able to fortify 10 from B into C. This would get worse if you were doing a lot of fortifications (which often happens near the beginning of the game) so I'm afraid this one gets the thumbs down from me

though written in another illegible language, it isnt a bad idea...it think its a variation ive played on the board to be honest...

I think its been suggested before too..I imagine we will see another fortification option eventually...and it will be something like this
