Ban New Recruits From Assassin Games [Done]

Postby max is gr8 on Thu Jul 31, 2008 9:19 am

Concise description:
New Recruits Cannot join assassin games.Because of the high percentage of deadbeats in assassin games it becomes unfair to the players who have deadbeat targets. So the solution is simple ban new recruits from assassin games. Before you say this is unfair think about it if you spend 3 turns going after someone who deadbeats you are at a huge disadvantage.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • Fun
  • Fewer Deadbeats in Assassin Games

Also, they take out the wrong guy not knowing what an assassin game even is. Maybe they should have to be assessed before playing different game types

New recruits cannot join team games ... so there is a precedent ...

I think a minimum requirement of say, 10 games, for solo new recruits (requirement waved if playing on a team with experienced players, or are they already banned from team games?) would be fair. It may not make them better players, but that's not the point. The 10 game experience, together with a better explanation of how the game works on the actual map, will reduce incidents of "crazy all-out attacking" by new members, and add to the game enjoyment for all.

This is great.
I myself don't deadbeat but I hate it when it happens.
Glad I won't be a new recruit soon enough.

Good idea. Not only deatbeating, but also killing the wrong assassins.

people, people. there had to be one day where they play their first assassin game is. There will be a game that they f*ck up, before they learn what it is.
they do deadbeat, which is (sometimes VERY) annoying, but there has to be a point where they mess up an assassin game because they don't know what it is.

for that, an automated PM should be sent to people who play an assassin game for the first time, explaining that Game Type.

I don't usually play Assassin, but if this is enforced I might play more in the future!

I understand that someone will mess up when they join an assassin but until someone is friendly with the site you shouldn't confront them with something that a lot of experienced players can cock-up

Of all game types, if a new recruit's first game is Assassin they have the lowest probability of making it to their first promotion. Along with the problem of uninformed new recruits killing the wrong target, this seems like a good step. New recruits are now blocked from Assassin games, just like team games.
