Mac Dinner Date [Winner: keeper16]

Postby PaulusH on Thu Dec 25, 2008 7:31 pm

News on running
keeper16 is the overall winner =D> =D>

All finished with their Mac Donut, their Big Mac, their banana milkshakes, their French Fries, the Mac Flurry and did take someting home from the McDrive :D
I had the idea that most people had fun; at least I did

Complete status overview can be found in post2 as well as in the first post at page 2 ;)

The 3 predictions made on 26 Dec had a mistake of 0%; 7% and 31%. So average 12%.
Compared to other predictions not very good, but also not very bad

Headlines
Premiums as well as non-premiums are welcome in this restaurant.
At entering you have to choose what your major reason is to join: eat or date?
Date: at the start you play one game at the same time and two weeks later max 2 games
Eat: you start with two games (max) and a third after two weeks.

Except for the number of games you can play in parallel, there is no difference between date & eat. For premiums the default is eat, for non-premiums the default is date.

Planning
Start first games on 15 January. You need to be able to start your game(s) at that moment.
I will reconfirm that date latest 12 January. In other words I hope that at least 25 people entered on 12 January.
Ok it will start on 15 January, but I still need some more reserves, so please join O:)

Mac Dinner Date
As the most of you, I also donā€™t consider the Mac as a standard restaurant. Still I would like to organize a kind of Dinner Date at the Mac. The group of 25 people is too large for one big table. To solve these issues we do it as follows:
All people are divided over 5 tables (5 people each) for the explanation of this dinner date; to prevent problems with really hungry people you get directly a Mac Donut. In fact what will be told is to get some fun you all have to go to different tables for the different things to eat. Again there will be 5 tables of each, but you have to go to one specific table that I will point out to you (you get 48 hours after getting a message in your inbox to enter your place). For your Big Mac Ā® and your banana Milkshake you even have to go to your specific place. The French Fries will be in large bowl, so you can pick at any time some fries out of the bowl and no fixed places there but still you will get a specific table to prevent all 25 go to the same bowl. Using the windmill system I arranged the tables for all of you in such a way that in the end of the Dinner Date, you will have met all of the other participants. Since I expect that you would like something extra we also already arranged a Mac Flurry. Basically that is it; in case you are still hungry you can get anything at the McDrive but anyway you simply will drive home.
You start at one table, but since everything is served on different tables you have to walk through the restaurant soon. The hungry people can directly begin at two tables. The dating people might look around a bit first, but after 14 days also should start with using two tables At that moment the hungry people can even use three tables in parallel.

To summarize you will get a Mac Donut, a Big Mac, a banana Milkshake, French Fries and a Mac Flurry. After that you have to drive home (optional: McDrive). Start with 1 or 2 tables; after two weeks 2 or 3 tables depending if you came to eat or to date.
I expect that you all will enjoy your time at my restaurant.

The recipes
For some people it will be already clear how this results in the recipes, others can look at post 3. All tables have 5 places and in fact it doesnā€™t matter if you understand how we came to the following recipes:
1) Mac Donut: USA, standard, seq, escalating, unlimited, sunny
2) Big Mac: Brazil, standard, seq, flat-rate, chained, sunny
3) Banana Milkshake: Caribbean, standard, seq, flat-rate, unlimited, fog
4) French Fries: France, standard, freestyle, flat-rate, unlimited, sunny
5) Mac Flurry: Imperium Romanum, standard, seq, flat-rate, unlimited, sunny
6) McDrive: World 2.1, standard, seq, no spoils, unlimited, sunny

Score
As score we use the windmill score. You will get more tulips in case you leave a table later. You will get for each game 21, 17, 13, 9 or 7 tulips depending on your position. The winner gets 21 tulips

In case there is at the end of the competition a tie in number of tulips collected, the results of game(s) in which those persons where in together will show there relative position.

Any needed reserve will get the same number of tulips as the person at position 7 at that moment. Furthermore he -or she- will get one extra bonus tulip.

Predictions
Predictions like this are easily not 100% correct, see my earlier tournament with predictions: link. The problem is that they really are only predictions.
ā€¢ Expected start first games at 15 January.
Invitations send on the 15th. So here a score of 100%
ā€¢ Expected start last game on 25 February.
In reality last invitations send on 1 Mar, that is 4 days too late. Prediction made on 26 Dec. 25 Feb - 26 Dec = 61 days. 4/61= 7% mistake
ā€¢ Expected the very last game to be finished at 10 October
In reality the last game ended already on 14 Jul. Calculating in the same way that is a mistake of 31%

Extra info, not really needed to know

Currently this gives more detail on why the recipes must be correct
And it also gives the complete general windmill scoring. With the windmill scoring all kind of games can be mixed, for instance standard games with team games.

Settings games

More explanations about the recipes
To my opinion the most normal setting is: standard, seq, flat-rate, unlimited, sunny. So that is normally used, but often there are reasons to deviate from that. The map is always explained.
Mac Donut: USA, standard, seq, escalating, unlimited, sunny
In fact I started with a donut to emphasize that the Mac is basically a company from the USA. Since it should be a quick bite I use escalating and that directly reflex the Mac itself.
Big Mac: Brazil, standard, seq, flat-rate, chained , sunny
Most beef is still coming from Brazil, to get this distributed all over the world is rather complex using all kind of chained organizations.
Banana Milkshake: Caribbean, standard, seq, flat-rate, unlimited, fog
Our bananaā€™s come from one of the foggy republics in the Caribbean also known as a banana republic.
French Fries: France, standard, freestyle, flat-rate, unlimited, sunny
I donā€™t have to explain the use of France for the French Fries. The freestyle is taken to show that you donā€™t have to wait on each other and can take some at any moment you like.
Mac Flurry: Imperium Romanum, standard, seq, flat-rate, unlimited, sunny
Ice cream was already known in the Roman Empire (most likely earlier, but with the Romans it started to become known more general). Since that map is complicated enough we did keep the rest normal.
McDrive: World 2.1, standard, seq, no spoils, unlimited, sunny
Ok now you still have to drive home, which could be anywhere on the world. But you know where you home is so you donā€™t need a card to get there.

General windmill scoring
In fact there are two groups of maps each having there own scoring. The reason for that is that in WWII people start eating tulips because of the hunger.

The complete windmill system scoring is up to 8 persons. Simply leave out lowest in case you play with less.
Score: get 21, get 17, get 13, get 9, get 7, get 5, get 3 or get 1 tulip
WWII: eat 0, eat 4, eat 8, eat 12, eat 14, eat 16, eat 18 or eat 20 tulips.
It is never possible to have negative tulips.
Reserve player: get one tulip extra on top of starting quantity of current position 7.

Mixing of standard, terminator, all team-setting and most assassins is possible. Assassin with 7 players is not perfect and for assassin with 6 players a small trick is used.
